Hopefully the beginning of some stability behind the bench. We're his 5th Q stop as a coach..3rd in the head coaching role. So experience isn't an issue. This guy should know our team and our competition and hit the ground running.

Davey Boy Smith, the one guy left from his pack of friends years ago that care about the team. Sad.

I'll always keep fond memories of the face he made when it began to sink in that his team was pretty much done after Malatesta's OT goal in the 3rd game of the semi final. It looked like real despair. He got badly outcoached with that team he had.

So did every coach at the Mem Cup! Roy played a defensive system that was so tight, that pretty much every offense had challenges penetrating it. It's not a question of being out coached, Seattle has a great coach and as much skill.

And BTW, when one of your 20's turns the puck over as last man back on the offensive blue line in OT, you can make whatever face you want IMO.

He was fired from Gatineau, what the hell do you want them to say...he was lights out and we regret our decision?

Too much reading job postings for you. Some of our last coaches had little to no knowledge of the Q. This is a positive in this case.

No employer who dismisses an employee does so for a positive reason usually. We can sit here and try to see some silver linings or crap all over it. Might as well give the guy the time to see what he can do. For many reasons it's an upgrade on our past hired in terms of QMJHL experience and pedigree. Does that matter? Who knows. But if it does, it might get us out of limbo a little bit. Start to let us develop a culture. For every single coach in this league you will find people who won't like them, their style, personality, whatever...thats just the reality of the position.

I have an ex-girlfriend, who at the time I had very little good to say about. She is now married, has 4 amazing kids and is a pillar of her communtity.
It's all about fit, timing and how we learn from our mistakes. I am not decorating my float for the parade just yet, but if there is one thing this group needs is experience, I like the hire.
4 years and his family is moving with him, he is all in which is a huge bonus.

To be honest, our own coach has never won the President’s Cup in 3 final appearances. Roy’s teams had only reached the final once in 2006.

Caught part of Matthew Moore's Interview with Louis Robitaille on CBC Radio , here are some of the Highlights .
- Moving without his Family to Cape Breton was never even in the Equation . His Wife and Kids are moving here with him , he even has a Son from the United States who lives with his Mother who is coming and get this his Parents are moving up from October to May for the Hockey Season ......I think they will be looking for a 5 Bedroom House at Least ...lol
- He talked to several players and Coach's that came through here and they assured him that it was a great place to play and work .
- When doing some research about Cape Breton , he said there is something for everyone in his Family , his oldest Boy is an avid Fisherman , his Wife and Daughter love the Beach and he is an Avid Golfer and has heard their are some beautiful Courses here .
- They are driving here this Weekend for the Press Conference and some sight seeing .
- On the Hockey Side his answers were pretty well standard ....hard to play against .....work hard ......
- Mentioned Cam MacDonald as a Leader who will be well liked by the Fans . He mentioned the fact that Squires was Drafted and that Lavoie played over 20 minutes a night as a 16 year old which is a very rare thing .
* I am sure that the Whole Interview is probably available somewhere
