Hal, could you change the topic heading to, "Bathurst in Town, but Eagles Not Ready to Play"?
I hope we don't have to hear, "Not acceptable" after every road trip this season!

I did not get a chance to watch most of the game. But looking just at stats, the Eagles out shot Titans 38-30. Was it a goal tending issue at all? Draws were in Eagles favor as well. I see special teams was a little lopsided. PP could use some tuning up. Biggar was minus 4 which is not good. Perhaps bench boss will try and mix it up next game. The leaders dont seem to be stepping up when needed, try some of the other energy guys. Patterson comes to mind. He seems to have jump in his step. Either way, fix it quick as Huskies are coming your way and I would think they are significantly better then the Titan.

Louie said in the Pre Game Show that he really liked the jump and energy that the Boys showed at the Morning Skate ......OK ? Milota didn't look good but our highly touted Defence was Turrrribull ! In the Post Game Show Robitaille pointed the finger at all the guys that have a Letter ............so that starts First and Foremost with Biggar . I would put Patterson between Shields and either Ricard or Fullerton and they would get a ton of Ice Time .....at least these guys were showing they cared . It is a real struggle to get through these games even as a Fan when you are down like this and then watch our effort .

Disclaimer: I'm going to probably sound like a complete asshole but please don't take it personally. It's fairly obvious if you watch the highlights of the first 4 Titan goals what happened tonight. 1st goal Hennebury walked the Puck from the side of the net right out front completely u opposed and beat Milota outstretched. Failed defensive assignment. 2nd goal Pass to Roelens, wide open in the slot, 4 eagles in all directions around him but zero within 5 feet of him. Titan have a body smothering Milota and nobody making any significant effort to A) Move the body in front and B) Defend against the leagues top scorer. 3rd goal Eagles break to the side of the ice and completely forget about Arsenault just wandering below the hashmarks wide open unopposed (again) and shovels the Puck past Milota. I'm sure he would like to have that one back as he was deep in the net but still. 4th goal Milota would probably also like to have back as it was a floater from the point, at that point though the floodgates are wide open. Again Titan skater at the front of the net with the blade down ready for tip/rebound unopposed by any black jersey. Titan really played a solid game tonight and their big dogs showed up. Can't say the same for our team.

Thats great to hear. Does the 3 games in 4 days force you to pick one or do the discounts help you get to multiple games? The path is there for hardcore fans not wanting to season commitment to get to many games below the standard price. The numbers just say there's a limited fan base to get out to the games right now. thats the problem with scheduling. No matter what it only allows us to go to one of those games. Unless we decide to go to a 2nd game without the kids for the $13 deal. I had season tickets for 5 years when i was 18 but cannot afford it anymore/dont have the time to go to all of them. I just go whenever i can now and just follow online to the games i cant make it to. The prices of tickets nowadays just prices the avg person/family out of being able to go to alot of games. And that really isnt on the eagles, its on the league as a whole where tickets are on par with the entire league from my understanding. There's a huge issue with that being considered normal though. The QMJHL ultimately is 18 individual businesses who need to evaluate how they sell tickets based on their own regional economic conditions. The NHL is 32 individual businesses. I can pay $700 for a Saturday night in Toronto or get 2 tickets with a large pizza in Raleigh (joke, but you get the point) and that $700 in Toronto supports both businesses with revenue sharing. For the QMJHL to survive pretending 1300 in Val d'Or and 8000 in Quebec City are just 2 unique markets expected to compete with each other is just silly and a huge flaw in the business model of the 18 team league. If $25 in Halifax sells but $25 in Sydney doesnt....wouldn't 3000 people @ $15 each beat 1500 @ $25? We all realize its not as easy as cutting the price and watching more people come in but also saying X is the price in Quebec City or Halifax so X should be the cost in Sydney or Rouyn-Noranda doesnt make any sense, either. But whats really going to hurt us is season ticket holders on a Thursday watching zero effort and knowing they probably save money if they bought the promotional tickets on a Thursday and dodged the rest of the weekend...so they're making the next marketing/promotions guys job even harder. Year over year this compounds. Imagine being the 7th marketing guy in a decade trying to win back fans who gave up years ago? All these broken systems make it pretty hard to win back fans.

One thing I mentioned after opening weekend were the poor starts. (remember the defenders after that opening weekend, saying some of us were too hard on everyone?)
Those poor starts bled into the 2nd weekend in Saint John.
There have been 3 games out of 11 where this team actually started on time.
As we go into late October we sit here 6-5 after 11 games. 10th overall. -14 goal differential. Numerous players we paid big prices for to surround our #1 overall pick. Many of us talked about how soon it was. Sly preached how he had Noah Dobson and Lavoie was on the same trajectory. He's not. So while many of us wondered why are we not waiting to see what we have in this kid and building for when he's 18 and 19....our GM kept building for when he was 17 and 18.
Now we wonder why there's so many issues. A captain who isn't home grown. A coach still trying to find an avenue to properly communicate with his players. Many players not living up to expectations...as if the completely dysfunctional surroundings don't play into it.
But 2-3 game winning streak and certain people will start preaching about winning the league and try almost defending the path to this point. Its been nothing but mistakes since drafting Lavoie.
This still should have been a developmental year. Last year should have been as well. Proper expectations being thrown out the window means now fans arent happy, assets are being lost, the owner based on history is only a few weeks from meddling, and our GM 2 months from an overhaul of shipping out similarly talented players for each other to try and make it look like he's making changes while in the end he loses assets and sets back the real rebuild.
This team is rolling with 2 acquired overagers. Paid a big price for Schmitt and Burbridge. How is it down 4-0 to Bathurst at home in the 1st period if not for a complete lack of leadership at all levels?

Can't say the same for our team. Reynolds dominated the games we played vs SJ as well. The vets on these bad teams are mostly outworking and outperforming our vets and our supporting cast is completely invisible. Look at these terrible starts: Shields 11GP 1G+2A -9 Stahon 11GP 1G+2A -1 Fullerton 11GP 0G+2A -10 Lavoie 11GP 0G+4A -7 Schmitt 11GP 0G+1A -1 Patterson 11GP 0+0 -7 Shortall 11GP 0+0 -5 Ranks goalies league wide and ours come in at 15 and 22. This is an organization spending 2 1sts and a 2nd for players to help this team win...right now. When will the internal expectations ever match reality here? This has quickly becoming a flaming tire fire on the side of the highway that people are observing to see what the fallout becomes vs when special things are going to happen. The quicker our people get this and start holding the Simon's, the Couturier's and the Robitaille's accountable the better. These people are destroying this organization.

I wouldn’t put Robitaille in with Simon and Couturier category just yet as I think he maybe best coach since Vincent days but not sure how long that will last , as for Couturier he has been very disappointing to say the least . He has another year left on his Contract? Personally do you give Robitaille the GM title at some point and see what he can do ? I definitely wouldn’t give Hanna the GM title as I think he should go too . Just my opinion tho

Remember Courtourier is not done yet , watch him at Christmas Time if we are still hovering at 500
