Sending a goalie SOS Cam. Didn't see him upstairs in his usual spot in the press gallery to watch this debacle tonight. Shame. Must have gone to the Challenge in Magog.

Nothing that is happening right now was not expected….i hope that we are aware and not surprised. This team needs a major shake up….even with Those Team Canada guys coming back in January, we are not going to win anything….i cross my fingers for substantial changes.
I said it last week, without that top line, we are one of the worst team of the league….the game vs Saint-John and tonight is the proof.

What was cam thinking drafting this jabroni ponzetto especially in a contending season? Should’ve drafted an 18 or 19 like they did with Moravec last season. Ponzetto would struggle against the timbits lol

Wake me up Jan 6th.
Games like last night need to be forgotten about. If you take 6 top players out of any team, that team will suck. So don't put much stock into the results. It's going to be a rough few weeks. Even if/when trades are made, it's going to be a slog until those guys are back from the World Juniors.
It's fine though. They overachieved in the first half, built themselves a nice cushion. So who cares if they have a bad few weeks
The Q season is two separate seasons. First half, before the trade deadline, which means nothing. And after the trade deadline when teams are a finished product and it's go time. Moose will be fine.

It's interesting that most of the complaints consist of calling out a couple forwards and the backup goalie, when one of the main strengths of the team is the defense and they were mostly intact except for Furlong. I'd say scoring four goals with no depth and missing four top-six forwards is pretty good. Good on Cataford for stepping up and continuing his strong play. It's the giving up eight part that is the issue for me. I'd expect a tighter match-up and more of a 2-1 style game missing that much firepower. The Moose have to be able to adjust and play the cards they're dealt.
Losing to Saint John and Bathurst isn't going to change Halifax's needs going into the trade period. It certainly magnifies them when results like last night happen.

Exactly if I was Bathurst I wouldn't get too cocky when Halifax is missing; Vidicek will be back this weekend unless NHL players aren't released. The rest will be back in January.
Dumais Furlong Vidicek Rousseau Levesque Crosby

Some who have said they should sell might say that this stretch (losing to SJ & Bathurst) and the lack of secondary scoring is evidence to blow it up and sell the core group. To me, it's solidifying just how special the core group of Dumais, Cataford, Vidicek, Furlong, & Rousseau are. They carried the team to a great first half record and to waste having them for this year and NOT going all in to win with this group would be super disappointing. Edit: plus, it would send a bad message to the fanbase to not give this group the chance to win it all.

One shift, had 2 horrible D zone turnovers and then dumped the puck over the glass.

One of the issues with the D may be the fact that other than one line for Halifax, the other lines don't have the puck very much and the D is likely needing to defend more than if there were more balanced lines.

Milner is not ready at this level yet the skill might be but pressure of playing for a top team in a big rink with a large fan base it takes time . The Moose didn’t play him enough in the start of the year it’s only the last couple of weeks he is getting baptized.

I sit right around the corner where he dumped it and you could see by his face/body language after he dumped the puck over the glass that he just wasn't feeling it. On the bright side, Schultz has been playing really well and so has Phillips!

Hopefully there will be some games that end up being postponed due to weather over the next 4 weeks and played after the trade deadline and our WJ and injured players are back.
It doesn’t really matter anyways, in order for the team to be serious contenders Cam is going to have to heavily mortgage the future and even then we will end up doing what we always do, lose in the finals on home ice yet again.
I have more faith in gas station sushi than I do in Cam in putting together a Presidents Cup winning team.

On the bright side, Schultz has been playing really well and so has Phillips! Schultz has been doing okay I guess but has the worst plus minus of all our D and growing. Phillips does well usually, but saying he played really well last night leading the team with a minus 3 isn't something I can agree with. Our D in general have to be better, but no matter how good they get, Milner is not stopping pucks. That has to change. I am with the others. Zero need to panic. We are missing so many talented players over the holidays. This team will be a brand new stacked contending team come Jan 6. I am excited to see what the 2nd half of this season has in store for us.

Halifax vs Saint John
Nice to see some secondary scoring after one period 😉
