Moncton wins 8-2, Halifax gives third star to Logan Crosby. Halifax wins 4-3 in overtime, Schultz gets 2 goals, 2 assist. One being the game winner. And doesn’t get a star. Three stars has become a joke. Craig Eagles selected the 3 stars. He left after the 2nd period.

Three stars has become a joke. Considering the 2nd star played maybe 10 shifts all game, I’m pretty sure they were pre planned lol considering Morin also had 3 points and didn’t get a star so I don't know why people bother spending any time worrying or complaining about the 3 stars. At this point it is nothing more than a silly tradition that exists mostly to have an advertiser stick their name on it. In the most rare of occasions it's nice to give a goalie an extra applause for an outstanding performance but that's about it.

Steinman was one of the main reasons they were even able to come back.

Was my first time back to the Avenir since before the pandemic. Great to see and hear so many Mooseheads fans on the road!
Really would have liked if the stripes let that MacKinnon and Smith tussle breathe. Would have been proper heavyweight tilt. But alas, rules are rules I guess.

So does this team put on its big boy pants today and actually fucking show up or does the downward spiral continue? I’ll go with the first option the Mooseheads only shit the bed at home, law of averages right? I have no opinion on coaching one way or the other. I'm not in the room and I'm not experienced enough to give an informed opinion on whether or not a coach is any good. That's why I didn't comment on coaching in your original post. Maybe Midgely's style isn't suited for this team, I have no idea.

Maybe Midgely's style isn't suited for this team, I have no idea. Midgeley’s first time as head coach ended with one of the most embarrassing Mooseheads playoff performances getting swept by a team they should have beat; we could all see it coming as it was obvious that he didn’t hold players accountable all year, one even told him to fuck off to his face. As someone who has been on both sides of the interview process in my career I would hope that this question came up in the interview process last summer- “How have you grown as a coach since the first time you were a coach/ how have you progressed in holding star players accountable? We have seen it all year- this team fluked out a “heater” in the first third of the season due to Rousseau- the team plays like garbage at home for the most part. The fact that new ownership went el cheapo bringing this guy back is brutal , so much for wanting to be the London Knights of the Q.

I think the challange for Midgely is that he is taking over at a time where its a go for year just like last time he took over. This year is going to end the way it ends but I think Midgely should be offered a full cycle of the team. He is taking over for a great coach that we all questioned last year as well at times. This team is full of ups and downs for sure, they are frustrating at times but dont forget they have competed with all the top teams in the league and they have had a lot of injuries including the MVP of last year, and they are still in 3rd place overall. It was a tough weekend I get it but we including myself are quick to panic about the team but they always show us that they have the ability to come up big when they need to. Could they go up first round? 100%. But they also could go to the finals just as easy. Dont forget that they had a long season last year, I think they are looking forward to the playoffs. I have frustrations with the team just like everyone but I feel we need to ride the wave, support the team and see where things end up.

Cataford suspended one game… smh Probably the right call, but I just love the edge that Cataford plays with. Just straight through Sumpf like a f'n truck, who had his eyes glued to the ice the entire time. Hopefully he'll hear the footsteps next time!

Moose aren't playing very consistently lately, and Rousseau has been off as well.
They have a lot of talent, and obviously if Dumais returns and is effective, that takes the team up a notch. But they don't seem to have a set style of play yet. They don't dominate at either end of the ice. They are still a very good team because of the depth of talent, but all I know is that they aren't an overly strong defensive team or a strong offensive team. They are a well rounded team, I guess. Not sure that will be enough.
Side note - Levesque is flying, at times he seems to hit a different gear and goes even faster around the zone. I suspect he will be a big scorer in the league the next 2 years. He hasn't reached his offensive ceiling yet.

He was absolutely flying Monday.
