I agree with wingman, going to a race is something you will never regret or forget. I go to the September Loudon race and love every minute of it. We go down Friday morning and return Monday and party the whole weekeend. We have made friends from all over the Northeast and can't wait to go back and see them again. The only problem I have ever seen at Loudon is if someone wears Yankees apparel., for some reason there are lots of Red Sox fans in NH who don't care much for the Yankees.

I have never been to Loudon...not my favorite track to say the least. I really like tracks with some banking. In the past Loudon, hasnt made for great racing...flat, shaped like a paper clip. ALthough I must say, the racing has improved the last few times there. But you are right, you meet people from all over, and really have a good time. When we go to Richmond (Sept...coming soon), we go to both Busch and Cup race, tailgate in a parking lot for a few hours prior to the race...pack up our beer, load the cooler and head to the track. God, I cant wait.

New Hampshire is Red Sox country, I was there a couple of years ago and I was surprised how big the Red Sox are there. I've had friends that went to Daytona and they had a blast, they were saying that you have to do it at least once in your life. Bristol is a track that I've wanted to see a race at. I know some Nascar purists don't think much of them, but I ws wondering what people here think of road courses in Nascar. Like them? Hate them? Have too many? Not enough? Should be in the Chase? etc.....

That being said I think they have a part in NASCAR and there should be a road course in the Chase (I vote for Montreal!) All types of tracks the race on should be represented in the playoffs, it only makes sense. As a Matt Kenseth fan though... that likely means no more championships.

Also a NASCAR enthusiast but not quite "FAN"atical about the sport since the mid 90's... It was more interesting when the crew chiefs could play with the design and setups more...now its more like IROC and the COT is taking even more of the individuality out ..its like 43 identical cars out there...no wonder the teams are caught cheating so much...kinda have to do something to get an edge..as far as the road courses go I like them...but ...the purists would sh*t if they actually made Montreal a "chase race" they all want the old style of NASCAR... round and round ,nothing else...we went to Pocono in '03 and I went to Daytona as a child(12) thats one I'd like to experience as an adult...anybody going to NBIS this weekend for the 250 thats always a good time...campin' and racin'and drinkin'....its going to be a good one, Terry Labonte and his son Justin are there this year...nbisonline.com see ya there!!!

Definitely going to Geary this weekend. Terry Labonte has always been my favorite and I wouldn't miss this chance to see him and Justin race each other for the first time.

I never liked the sport until I saw it live in Atlanta Ga, at the "Crackle Barrel 5oo"a few years ago....RedNeck Central....Pickup truck heaven:) The Sound was awesome and the crowd of 400,000 was amazing...We sat in turn 3 and had a great sight of the cars coming down the stretch...I would tell anyone....fan or not to go and see a race...

One reason why I like the road courses is because you get a lot of drivers not in the series. Example: Patrick Carpantier (sp?). There's talk he might get a full-time Busch or Nextel Cup deal, which would be sweet considering Jacques Villineuves signing to a Cup team next year, and will be racing some Busch races during the rest of this season.

I don't mind the road courses, but one thing that I do like about them is that if someone spins out it doesn't necessarily bring out a yellow. They allow them to keep racing while they get the spun driver off the course.
I hate the yellow flags for so-called "debris". When the tv announcers go to commercial because the yellow caution is out for debris and they say "when we come back we will try to find the cause of the flag" and when they come back they " we have been unable to find the debris that brought the yellow", that is an indication it was actually a yellow thrown by the Nascar officials to bunch up the field again. I find those ones are frustrating.
Any predicitions for this week's race in California? I'm not picking him just because he is my fav driver, but I am going with Tony Stewart. He has had the hot hand the last few races and he does well when he goes on a streak. Kurt Busch has a shot also, but I would rather see him put in the wall (unhurt of course) instead of victory lane.

Great race yesterday at NBIS. The 54 car was bad fast, but had all he could handle with the 17 and 97. For myself it was great to see Justin Labonte get a top 5 finish. Felt bad for Terry with the car troubles, but he proved once again why he is such a great ambassador for the sport. Can't wait for Loudon in two weeks.

Who, other than me, thought there was a little too much fire this weekend during both the BUSCH and NEXTEL Cup Races?

I was kind of worried for Waltrip for a second when his car had stopped and he wasn't getting out, scary stuff, especially when there are flames inside the car. When an oil line goes it doesn't take much for it to ignite, it can happen very easily.
As far as the race I thought it was ok, nothing too exciting except for Junior not going to be in the Chase. I like him because he is a clean driver who isn't an asshole on the track, but I think he is also a bit overrated. Perhaps he can accomplish more with Hendrick and I think he is going to have to.
