Game #3 Friday! Russia's top forward Alexei Cherepanov has been rumoured to miss the opening game in his hometown of Omsk as a result of a concussion suffered in Game 2. Cherepanov finished the game, but it has been mentioned he will miss one or both of the final games in Russia. Russian superstar Alexei Cherepanov is out for the remainder of the Canada-Russia Super Series. Cherepanov suffered a concussion when he collided with Canadian forward Brandon Sutter in the first period of Game 2. He was not on the ice for Friday's morning skate and according to team officials, remains in hospital. A first round pick of the New York Rangers, Cherepanov has been held pointless throughout the two games.

That was a dirty hit, Sutter left his feet. While Cherepanov may have deserved to get rocked for the slew-foot, he did not deserve that hit. It was both a charge and deliberate blow to the head (looked like Sutter drove his hands into Cherepanov's head). And it wasn't even a shoulder check.

And think twice about sticking his leg out....or at least don't piss off a hard nosed guy like Sutter...and if you do...keep your head on a swivel .

Is anyone surprised on how well young Turris has been playing?
Highly touted/skilled kid, but after playing JrA hockey and making the jump to this level, he has been one of the better team Canada Fws.

I am very impressed with Turris. He can pretty much do it all out there.

And Sutter got a penalty for it.

Game 4: Catch the game live at 7:00am on TSN
The Canadians are expected to play Game 1 starter Steve Mason in net. Mason, was shaky in the opening 10 minutes against the Russians, but settled into a groove and stopped 40 of 42 Russian shots. The Russians will likely counter with Konstantin Bobrovsky, who stopped 34 of 37 shots in a losing effort in Game 2. There is no word on the status of Artem Anisimov, Andrei Popov or Maxim Mayorov, who all suffered injuries in Game 3.
