In regards to Euros, it says Voynov has been working out at his agents' in Ottawa and Fomin is to arrive in Moncton on the 24th. Where does that info come from ?

I still fully expect to see Voinov...LA has shown themselves to be patient with spects, and Voinov is fully committed to playing in NA

I saw indications around the NHL draft that said he'd come over here ... but that was before the Russian Ice Hockey Federation stated they'd place sanctions on anybody that left to play in NA. It is those sanctions that are getting in the way of him signing an agreement ... as I understand at this point.

he won't sign an agreement when he is looking towards playing pro...
he is not afraid of IIHF, I don't think...he and Filatov both said that they wanted to come over no matter what...

Voynov wants to play in the NHL as soon as possible(unlike a lot of Russians right now), that's why he spent the summer in NA and is willing to report to a major junior team. The Russian Federation won't cut 2 of it's best players from their WJHC team just because they are playing CHL, they like winning too much for that.

it's a scare tactic...which Russia has been accused of in the past (doing it behind closed doors)...Voinov will go where ever LA asks, so he can play NHL as soon as possible...if anything, the threat may make him want to stay here more...

I read on "Inside the Kings" website that Voynov (spelled this way and not Voinov...debated on their website as to the correct spelling) participated in the Kings development camp from July 8-18th. They stated that players could opt out of their contracts in Russia with 30 days notice and have apparently done so. The Kings have a few young prospects that they may have to be patient with...Drew Doughty, Bernier in nets and now Voynov. At least we know Voynov is in North America. ;D Now for the next step...

Voinov can be spelled any of Voinov, Voynov, and Vojnov in english...and Moncton's greatest fear is that he makes LA or Manchester...

I remember reading something to the effect that they want him to play a year in junior then a year AHL, pushing for an NHL job at 20. Playing in junior would lessen the strain on him get used to the language, culture and style of play all at once playing against guys his own age instead of grown men. That could change if he has a huge camp.
