Wow, if Marchand were to somehow get sent back to Halifax.. that would be GREAT! Along with the Baie Comeau 1st rounder ( which could be a high one ) and then another 1st rounder. The thought of maybe having the 1st overall pick, or close to it, without having a year in which we struggle.. it's great.

I know many peop[le won't agree with me on this, but I'm only saying this as a possibility- With his size and speed, if Jeff Bell is coachable, willing to listen and work on his weaknesses, he could become an impact defencemen in the Q, by next year. Could even make hockey a career. On the other hand if not coachable, and what we see now is what we are going to get-WHAT A WASTE

I too liked what little I saw of him in training camp, and if he works hard and is willing to be a scrappy player (not necessarily an enforcer), he should be a solid third pairing defenseman in the Q.

In order to get to that level, his decision making needs to get a lot better. That's what's holding him back, he's plenty big and mobile enough, but he needs to see the winger and pass him the puck or recognise his man and take him out of the play. Another aspect that needs a lot of work is finishing his checks.

Maybe Flynn will make him a project, a la Ted Stephens.
