Wildcats signed Matt Lahey who practised with the team today after arriving from Ontario.
He arrives as our 4th 20 year old as the Q teams can have 4 20's on the team but only dress 3 until Nov 10 of this season.
I can't see the writing on the wall for eagles or sill but this might be a challenge to biduke, but he has been injured all season so far.
Not sure where Flynn is going with this, guess we will find out soon. Lahey to play this Friday against Shaw...

I can see Lahey be here till that November 10th deadline or stick with team. I can see team trade Biduke but I don't think they'll trade Sill or Eagles....
It's probably an experience factor for Flynn, with Sill probably out another 3-4 weeks and Biduke 2 weeks or so.
Time will tell

Also if he plays well, then Moncton might be able to get a draft pick for him or trade Biduke who knows....He'll play till Biduke & Sill are both healthy IMO.

Sounds like a low risk high reward type move. Give the guy a month or so to show his stuff, then move him or Bidduke. I can't see Eagles or Sill moving unless the price is ridiculous. The Cats could end up with a free 3rd to 5th out of it.

Kind of offtopic here, but how is you're Q age determined? I notice he isn't yet 20. Is it December 31st when the cut off is?

I thought it was the day of his birthday... meaning if a player turns 21 yrs old on January 31st, he has to stop player for the rest of the year.

Flynn is doing a great job of building organizational depth, he gets this kid for nothing, worst case he doesn't work out, best case we flip one of our existing 20 year olds and gain an additional draft pick.

That would suck...isn't Hepditch's b-day the 1st of January? Too bad the cut off date isn't December 30th...Corey Crawford could have played an extra season with us. Also, anyone know if this guy is related to Randy? Anyways, should be interesting, his first game is against a good team.

Posts on the 67s messageboard indicate that Lahey has, firstly, a history of injuries and secondly, a history of inconsistent play. He was a first-round pick that showed early promise, but then tailed off last year. He missed most or all of training camp this year, and was either "ineffective" or "looked good" for the first two games with the 67s this year. Maybe a change of scenery and team will benefit him - like someone else said, a low-risk move on Flynn's part.

Flynn Seems to have good luck with the cast aways from the OHL. Mangan was a great pickup and he didnt produce that well in the OHL the last year of his carear there..BIduke was another one....So I hope he see's this as his final chance and comes in with a bang..
