The Powerfull offence falls to the mighty Defence. BRAVO WILCATS!!!!! 4-2 Cats Only 1 goal at even strength and 1 shorthanded, both for the Cats. Looks like if it wasn't for the questionable call on Roski in the 1st, the cats might have gotten 4-0. Not likely, but definitely possible.

Wow. What a comeback. The boys played well for most of the game. The PP looked pretty good in the first, but they just couldn't beat Palmier, who stood on his head for most of the game. PK looked good for the most part. Gauthier looked pretty hurt in the first as he literally jumped off of the ice. I had no problem with the 5 to Roski until he missed a blatant call against whoever was holding Savard's stick before Paradis' goal. As you said, Pielmeier was very strong in the 1st, on one PP he stopped 4-5 shots back to back. If this was a test, they passed with flying colours, even minus MacAusland Sill and Biduke.. Lahey did not stand out much, he looked a bit out of sync. His goal was a great play by Eagles. As I said earlier, nice addition, low risk high reward.

I had no problem with the call on Roski, I thought it was deserved...just a lot of times they don't call 5 minutes.

Gauthier the faker! twice2.... Happy the ref called a diving penalty.... Cataracts lacks defense....offense is good though.....defense could well be their downfall! Lahey may very well be a keeper....Biduke? The first time Gauthier came off the ice after the diving board incident, he had a big smile on his face after he passed the ref.

I was pissed that the ref missed the blatant stick holding which resulted in a goal. But how about that goal that he called from center ice? Apparently, his telephoto vision got the best of him.

Okay you guys had to know someone was going to ask this one:

Okay you guys had to know someone was going to ask this one: How was the Lane vs. Bernard fight? Bernard had a hard time making contact once Lane used one of his arms to push him away and the other to throw punches. Bernard's reach was a little short on quite a few punches. Lane appeared to land more punches than Bernard, but in the end, Bernard landed on top of Lane.

I thought that was a poor call, Gauthier lays on the ice for at least two minutes and jumps to his feet as if nothing had happened, and then the ref lets the stick holding call go, not sure what he was looking at. But over all one of most enjoyable games I have seen in a long time. these kids are truly amazing, never getting to high or too low, I think we are in for a entertaining year. GO CATS GO

I was very impressed with the Cats tonight and overall this year especially considering the youth. Both PP units had a 16yr old. I was also impressed with the discepline that Flynn has over the guys, there were several times they could have retaliated once the game got chippy and clearly did not, seemed to be a page out of the Mem cup year book.
So the question is, are we for real or is it still too early to tell?

Does anyone know why the Shawinigan team has a Boston Bruins patch on their jersey?

Does anyone know why the Shawinigan team has a Boston Bruins patch on their jersey? The Shawinigan team was originally known as the Bruins. They used the Boston logo for themselves. They became the Dynamos around 1975, then changed their name to Cataractes around 1979. Since it's Shawinigan's 40th anniversary (as well as the QMJHL's), the jerseys they wore are commemorative. The big "C" logo on the front of the sweater was the Cataractes first logo after they changed their name from Dynamos. This is the summary for the first ever Q game in Shawinigan. www.lhjmq.qc.ca/lang_en/index.php?page=342374&id_partie=3089

Dimitruk didn't seem to play a whole lot....maybe I just didn't notice him, but I think the Cats went to 5 d-men early in the game. Anyone else notice this or have any info?

Dimitruk I think made a few mistakes and Flynn sat him or maybe he got hurt but I did see him out there in 3rd...Right now he's our #6 D...
I was really impressed with Cats tonight, showed a lot of poise for sure. It could be a very entertaining year for sure.
I thought Lahey was ok out there, I'll give him a few games to get adjusted then I'll give an opinion on him.

I barely noticed Lahey until he scored the goal Eagles created. I'm not sure that he was getting a regular shift.
