Very good gesture on behalf of Canucks.
I'm still shocked that the Wildcats didn't do anything on his behalf prior to a game...

I contacted the Cats about this and they replied that something is planned but they want his family to be at a certain point in their grieving process so that they are comfortable enough to be part of the ceremony.

I am surprised that teams didn't have a moment of silence or even an acknowledgement before one of their home games. I know the league had a moment of silence during the draft back in June and the accident was a couple of months ago but am surprised the league didn't do something for the fans around the league who watched him play to respect his memory with perhaps a moment of silence. Not a complaint but more of a surprise than anything.

I was really unimpressed the the Wildcats didn't do anything. I can't speak on behalf of the Eagles and Foreurs but I was really disappointed. It was a treat to be able to watch him play, I wish we could have paid respect to him so way. Only thing I was able to do was name one of the two divisions in the Q pool after him. Which reminds me....didn't they do something for Ettinger when his tragedy struck us?

The players wore a special jersey with his number 19 on the chest. Those jerseys were auctioned off for a charity that the Big Show supported.

The organisation will be just as classy when in comes to Bourdon, when they believe the timing is right. I like having a special event/game to remember the passing of a former team member rather than a minute of silence and a regular game.

We had a moment of silence as well as a short speech here in CB prior to the home opener, It will defintly be a tear filled nite again while watching the tribute on CBC. I dont know if anyone read the article on TSN but the Canucks orginazation has also created a wall in GM place in Lucs Honor, and named it the Luc Bourdon wall of dreams. The wall is a collection of photographs of Canucks players interacting with children. One photo, which shows goaltender Roberto Luongo chatting with a minor hockey player in goalie gear, has the word "inspiration" on it. Another, a shot of defenceman Mattias Ohlund and a young player, has the word "courage." The wall is anchored by a large photo of Bourdon, his hair tousled, holding his puck. The caption says passion. Under his photo are pucks from the junior teams he played for plus the Team Canada junior squad he helped lead to two world junior championships. The wall is framed by 191 hockey pucks from minor hockey associations from around B.C. if anyone is interested in the article here is the link tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=252106&lid=headline&lpos=topStory_main

I was initially hoping they would do it against VDO but that didn't work out so hopefully they can do it for a Screaming Eagles game or something. Either way, it has to be done in my opinion.

watching live right now, this is a very sad event. the Canucks have a 100% class as they honour this fine young man, and pay respect to his family. May God's peace be with his family. LB should be on the Cat's jersey or helmet, why are we so slow at honour?? or is there something that is being done that I do not know of? Nevertheless luc is in our hearts and memories.

Having Tom Cochrane sing an accoustic version of "Big League" while that video montage was showing was moving. The lyrics apply so much to this tragedy.
