One player would need to be dropped to add Leahy as this list was from 2 weeks ago. Wouldn't Voinov be now on a "special list" since he did not report and is playing pro ? Or does he still count in the 50 even though he on that list ? The logical player to dump IMO is Danis-Papin ... he isn't leaving NCAA. I'm not sure at what point he goes on that list, but if he was on it, he would not count towards the 50.

I wonder if Moncton will try to get Logan at Christmas. Having the brother increases the chances I guess.

The smartest thing the WC can do is develop their players, maybe tinker a bit and fly under the radar. 2 teams can make the Memorial Cup so they may only need one upset to get there.

I'm all for improving our team, but not at those costs. I agree with CP, I'd like to see the Cats develop their players, get the new guys used to the new systems. We've yet to have a healthy lineup, having Sill get back into the fold is going to be a big boost for the team. If somehow we can improve our team, without giving up guys like Bissonnette, and not losing our 1st rounder from BC, then maybe you do it. Let's see where we are at Christmas.

According to Wuest through Patenaude ... Voracek went on their Special List when he played a game for Columbus ... allowing them to bring in Vlasanek without losing Voracek's rights. So it would seem logical that Voinov did the same when he played (did he play ?) in Manchester's first game. But ... the timing of that doesn't seem to work ... Lahey was added Oct 2 ... and the AHL season didn't start until roughly the 9th. So ... somebody was released.

I don't think you're going to see many more young talented guys traded away. Irving would rather have top players start and finish their junior careers with the wildcats. Especially if they are marketable like Bissonnette or Gormley. They make more money!
But I could see us trading away picks since the fans don't feel attached to them like they do to players.

It makes sense from a hockey standpoint. Guys like that will be as good at 18 as the "rental" type players they can get in now, and you get them for at least 4 years.
