I don't think the cats will get another defensemen. Although, someone could argue that the must be in the hunt if they went after Voinov. I just think they would get Downe to play before trading for anybody else

In order to have that upgrade be worthwhile(a serious upgrade over Brown/MacAusland/Leahy/Famin) it would have to be a top 20-30 scorer like Joly or Petit and they would cost more than a 2nd or 3rd as there will be 3-4 teams bidding for them. He doesn't have to be a serious upgrade on all those names you mention.. only has to be an upgrade on Leahy to make it worthwhile I don't think the 20 year old market is that strong this year that multiple teams will be bidding on guys like Joly or Petit etc... I think teams that are midpack (which could end up being Moncton) might be the only teams in the bidding for rebuilding clubs excess 20's.. but time will tell either way you have nothing to lose really by moving a pick for a better 20 than Leahy We have played only one game this year with three 20 YOs ... and several with only one 20. Adding a 3rd 20 comes at the expense of a younger player that has been playing regularly on a winning team. Sill will be back tonight ... and he will make an immediate improvement ... he is a catalyst type player that makes everybody work harder. Eagles is a mainstay and isn't going anywhere unless a big offer comes along. So far ... Lahey has 2 goals in 4 games ... but other than his 2 goals which were the result of hard work by others (Eagles and Stephens) ... he hasn't done much ... and I can't see him bumping younger guys out of the lineup. But Lahey brings experience and so far can score ... so you go with him until he proves it isn't worth the bother. Right now Lane is the only one that Lahey is taking ice time from ... Roski is out hurt ... but now with Sill coming in then another player will sit ... Lane again I guess. But how does Lane get back in the lineup ... and who sits out ... Petterson ? I'm almost inclined to say that we don't need a 3rd 20 this year ... and go with the guys we have now. If Lahey continues to score you can justify keeping him ... but I'm not that impressed yet. I'd rather have all of our youth in the lineup ... we have already shown we can win with that formula ... and it will just make us better for next year.

We don't really need an extra Dman unless we get into injuries.

Right now Jodoin and Gormley are going well as #3-4 but they may wear down if they keep playing over 20 minutes a night. They are used to a 40-45 game MAAA schedule with less travel.

There is absolutely no sense in keeping 3 20s just for the sake of having 3 20s. I am with you, so far he has no overly impressed but its still a little early. I think Christmas time would be the proper time to decide to keep him or not. Look on the bright side, if he doesn't work out maybe Flynn will end up with another good/decent pick ;D ;D ;D
