Correct me if I'm wrong you're saying: Moncton gives Boyle at the draft ; Danis-Pepin ; Biduke Moncton gets HAL 1st 2011; HAL 2nd 2012; HAL 1st 2013; HAL 1st 2014; HAL 1st 2015 I was told Pepin was willing to report to Halifax and Halifax is willing to seal the deal, but Moncton is delaying to trying to get more out of it.

I don't know anything about Papin, but why would a team trade for a 20 year old that has a 99.9% chance of showing up? And also only to play for 3 months? I mean, if a team is interested in trading for his rights, I'm all for it.. 'cause he's not going to report. Danis-Papin is a Chicago draft pick and they are putting pressure on him to jump to pro ... and they want him to jump to the Q this year so they can possibly have him for the AHL playoffs. Apparently D-P didn't like the way the Wildcats pursued him for the last few years and so he told them he'd never play for them ... but would report to the Q if traded and financial compensation could be negoatiated. Haliafx has the resources to work out that deal. The two exta 1sts in 2014 and 2015 only happen if Halifax trades him to another team this year ... I doubt that happens.

No trade has been announced yet to my knowledge. I'm not sure why Biduke make a "big fit" after he heard he was traded ... if he hasn't been traded. he was sent hom to wait for a trade ... but to my knowledge that hasn't happened yet. Biduke can be traded today if a deal was there. Just because we wait until Xmas doesn't mean we will get a young player for him. But yes ... there is that hot rumour that we will get Couturier ... but I heard it will be at the next draft (2009) ... and we'll add in Cadet and a 4th at that time. I heard the Cats are trying to make the 4th become a 6th if Biduke scores 30 ... and that may be the holdup. So what you're saying is Moncton gives Biduke and Cadet and a 4th or possible 6th for Couturier at the next draft. Wow! that would mean Moncton would have picked up 5 out 18 first round projected picks in 2008. 2 fourth rounds and a free agent for a 2nd overall picks seems awesome to me!!! This could actually get better as it is now a bidding war between Halifax and Drummondville.

A guy like D-P could come in and bring those fans back.

I heard that the Wildcats are going for it this year because of their hot start. They offered Biduke, Gormley at the draft, Bissonette and 2 first round pick for Angelo Esposito.
Sounds like a fair deal to me ;D

I heard many Chicago scouts are comparing Papin to the Great former Moncton Alpine D-man Frank Appel. If this is true I could see Hfx offering what I heard for his services.....it would be really a sweet deal for our future adding Bernard and all those picks,I could see Moncton flipping some of those picks for an impact 20 yo to replace Biduke/Lahey.

As good as Frank Appel? I thought we were getting a great deal but now I have to revise my position on that one.

They weren't saying he was as good....mostly it was just mention of him being in the same mold as Frank Appel. I still think it's a shame Appel never got his shot in the NHL

I wonder if we should compare the usefulness of this thread to the "Pelham" thread of a few years ago or the "driving over a garbage bag" thread. ;D ;D

From a very reliable source...
The Wildcats are trading Biduke's rights to the Los Angeles Kings.
In return the Kings are going to send Voinov to Moncton and the Wildcats are also going to receive the Kings 2009 NHL first round pick. This will allow the Cats to pick a player from another CHL team to join them for their run next year (with no compensation to that CHL team).

This thread is great for laughs, especially this post lol. I might as well add to the fun. I heard Biduke will be traded to Saint John for Dido, Sparling and Grant with Sauve going over at the 2009 draft.

There has to be more to it than that. U are undervaluating Biduke there elementz. Try a little harder to make it a little more even.

If he's that good and combined with his age the deal makes no sense from Halifax's point of view. The Mooseheads are currently only in the market for stopgap 19 YO's.
