i'll tell you why USA never wins: they don't like using americans playing in the CHL. don't believe me? KEITH YANDLE. that says it all. if Yandle or any other american player was playing NCAA, they'd be a lock on their junior team, but because of the american's stupid pride, they'll never win anything with their rosters. the CHL is way better than NCAA, everybody knows that.hahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHA... My father is stronger than your father.... lol... Seriously, junior age player playing against college age players... You just said CHL is way better? I hope you were talking about player development and not about current skills... Even if you were talking about player development, not "Everybody knows that"... THN has 4-5 articles a year saying how NCAA is just as good for player development. It always depends on the person. A player that is a 90+% certain to make the NHL and wants the fastest route should probably choose CHL, but for any other players, they need to evaluate their options differently.

It depends on a few factors. If a kid is an elite player at 16 and can be a frontline junior player...Brandon Gormley, James Sheppard, Ben Duffy...at 16 and 17, he is better off in junior playing at the highest level possible rather than staying Jr.A or prep school. Another factor is that at 15 and 16, kids don't know for sure there will be an NCAA scholarship there once they are old enough to go play(18-20). It's nowhere near as black and white as it appears.

If it's so easy to put a team together and GM's deserve no credit because of the talent pool they pick from, how come the US can't win shit with their all-star team they send every year comprised entirely of first-round NHL draft picks and Russia continually shits the bed when it counts? Canada has the highest registration numbers, by far... I think that's what Billy is referring to. The only country that's close is the US and a lot of that growth is in recent years which wouldn't show up at the jr. level yet. Also, given that the NCAA is their primary developer, they'd peak later on average than Canadian players.

What McKenzie said was true. Each goalie has proven at point of igher level in Junior Hockey. And Pickard was the top goalie at the summer camp, so they can't just push that aside and bring in a new guy.
those are true words by McKenzie.
Its a different game once your on a high platform.

Yes and No You have to look at a lot more than winning titles...Osgood won the cup last year but I don't even think he is in the conversation for Team Canada 2010. Winning a title is a team think not just a goalie thing. I'm not saying that winning that should not help their case, but you also have to too look at what they have accomplished individually. The part that's truly stunning and stpuid is inviting 16 and 17 year olds like Gormley, Clermont and others but not Riopel Barberio or Doyle. Taking Scandella ahead of Barberio is another head scratcher.

Cam ward won a cup and is younger the osgood. Broduer speaks for itself, and has won cups. Luongo hasn't won a cup, but has been a superb goalie for a few seasons.
Riopel is having a good season this[/] year. Pickard, Allen, Sexsmith, Tokarski all went drafted into the NHL and Rio wasn't. There's an obvious reason for that and Canada scouts i imagine take that into account. Sexsmith, Allen, Pickard are all signed by there respective NHL teams as well. IMO all that weighs down ontop of Riopel.

Those 3 other goalies did not prevent them from inviting Rio to the Q-Russia games.
