Nope, it was the yearly trade shows that take quite a few weekends in the spring.

back in 2006, during the first round the Cats played the first two games on the road in Victoriaville and then hosted the next 3. i forget what the reason for doing that was (perhaps someone else remembers). another possibilty that season if i remember correctly was to play games one and two in saint john (read it in the t&t or telegraph journal), as their building was vacant at that time of the year.? Yeah, I was going to mention that too. There was quite a buzz around SJ about that possibility. Wasn't it a scheduling conflict with the University playoffs? That would've been the 2007 playoffs vs. Halifax in which the University Cup conflicted with the Cats. That series went 1-1-1-1-1-1-1. The Cats were gracious enough not to interfere with the Univeristy Cup schedule last year. ;D

For what it is worth, I am told that the curling event will have the ice tied up for an entire week prior to the start of the event, and probably a couple of days afterwards ... the ice will likely be unavailable from about March 28 until April 15 ... Just looking at the calendar and assuming the normal dates, that means as long as our 1st round series doesn't go to Game 7 we should be fine. But of course assuming we make it to Round 2 there is no chance of any of those games being played at the Coliseum.

I think that the Aitken Centre might be the best option for the games you can't play in Monkeytown

I think that the Aitken Centre might be the best option for the games you can't play in Monkeytown I doubt it. It seats about 3500-3700 ... 4-plex will hold 2000 (something like that anyway) standing room. I seriously doubt that any more than 1000 people would drive to Fredericton to watch a game ... and even less than 1000 would go there 2 to 4 times ... especially with games online. How many in Fredericton would actually go ? They can probably get a good deal from the City (even though it is a Public-Private Partnership) on using the 4-plex and so they can probably still make money.

Yeah that was plan for the 2004 playoffs when it looked like there would be conflicting dates. Fortunately everything worked out and the Cats got to play all their playoff games at the Coliseum.
