He was picked quite a few times last year also when he was not producing.

the first powerplay stay on way too much, and BISSONNETTE should be on the first pp he has the best vision with the puck especially on the pp, they should try him with a couple of guys that can score! PETTERSON lost the puck everytime he got it tonight! stephens is going down hill, i like the energy ROSKI brings all in all it was an entertaining game!

I thought this was a pretty entertaining game, even from just watching it on the webcast. I'm not really disappointed about losing in a shootout especially considering we erased two Cape Breton leads in the 3rd period. The one thing I was disappointed in was that their PP looked dangerous all night while ours was garbage. On most of our PP's we ended up trading chances back and forth which is exciting during even strength but not something you want to see when your team has the man advantage. In hindsight it's not overly surprising that it was our 2nd PP unit that managed our only PP goal of the game.
As far as lines go I really liked the work of the Lahey-Stephens-Brown line last night as they created quite a few good scoring chances. This is obvious but the Cats did a poor job of getting pucks on net in the 1st and 2nd period and passed off on a couple good scoring chances. Thought it was pretty even game overall with the Eagles getting a slight edge due to their power play.

Stephens is a very skilled player, but no one really drew you out of your seat during the shootout so why pick on him. The whole team is struggling to put the puck in the net.

Stephens had the 2nd best shootout % of the Cats last year (3/7) and this year he is one of the very few Cats players to have scored in the shootout so why not use him as the 6th player. I guess some people had to find a new whipping boy.

To be fair it was only one poster that mentioned anything about Stephens being a bad choice in the shootout so it's not like the whole board was calling for his head. I certainly had no problem with him shooting in the 6th round.
