Went to tonights game and the Moose were greatly outplaying CB in the 1st but with two deflections and being down 2-1 after the 1st the night went downhill as it went along. Not a ton to say other then Hannay had a great night, played within his role and generally had a good game... a surprising game. Before you knew it gloves were off, noticed it was Hannay and was a little shocked to see it was vs. Bernard. A handfull of punches later and I was actually sitting there thinking "did Hannay just edge a fight against Bernard?" The crowd was quiet and the Hali bench was pumped... good fight for Hannay against a top fighter. Bernard seemed to want a rematch and wasn't exactly playing a good game taking several penalities. Ten minutes after his fight Hannay was the one with the shot from the point that Bahm tipped in. And as the game went on he gained more and more confidence (Russell rewarded him with good icetime) and was actually solid bringing the puck up the ice on a few shifts.
The game was a bit boring but Hannay's game was nice to see... sure he looks like he on roller skates instead of ice skates the odd time but he played well.

As you said, the Halifax bench was a lot more pumped after that fight than the CB one was. Not that Hannay beat Bernard, but he definitely scored a moral victory. Bernard's results have been odd so far. He's had a couple of pretty uninspiring draws/marginal wins against guys like Hannay and Gabe O'Connor....... not exactly big heavyweight names. But he's had a few other fights, including his pair against PEI's Wright last weekend, where he was chuckin the rights like pistons, then switching to the lefts and owning the rest of the fight. Some scraps he threatens to destroy a guy....... others are like a wet firecracker. You didn't exactly have the most exciting C200 experience. Whole crowd seemed pretty bored tonight, I know I sure was. A bit of a letdown I'm guessing from your trip to the Centre last year for Game 5 against Quebec, that game was a beauty.

I don't know if we saw the same fight. Hannay won the fight? I will give him credit for fighting Bernard and making it close. Halifax needs to find something to be positive about I guess.
