Olivier Roy has joined the Oilers farm team, the Springfield Falcons, of Connecticut. Just riding the bench so far. As an 18 year old I would have thought that he was too young to be with the AHL team but he is there with them at the moment.

He is to young but once your team is done they are allowed to join the AHL team for the remainder of the season. Oilers farm team doesn't only have Roy they have EBERLE

He certainly didn't show his true colors in the first round of the playoffs. He is far better than he played.....I wish him good luck. He has been one of my favorite goalies.......I'd like to see him excel.

He's very small to play a true butterfly style.

In order to do that he'll need to make a pretty drastic change in style. Rio was always more of a hybrid goalie, Roy was always a very agressive butterfly goalie. I don't think either of them is a great pro prospect at 5'10" and 5'11".

As much as I like having Rio right now I'm not convinced he'll have a great pro career.....hopefully for him I'm wrong. Reminds me a bit of J-F Damphousse.....he'll play some AHL but I doubt that he'll ever get any significant time in Philly (Flyers - not Phantoms). The biggest difference being that New Jersey was much more solid in their Goaltending while Philly has had some ups and downs.

Olivier came in to relieve at the start of the third period in last night's game as his team was down 7-2 after two periods. They finished the game 7-5 with the loss. Olivier allowed no goals against while he was in the net. His team has a game this afternoon. I hope the coach rewards his good play with the start in today's game.
