Exactly..... When the Abbies had competitive teams the CCC was packed. Not sold out, but close to 3,000 per game. WHEN they were competitive.....like in 1999 and 2003. Nonsense - and I think you know it. The Abbies NEVER drew "close to 3,000 per game" - unless you're talking about the Royal Bank Cup, of course. A decent Abbies crowd was always anything over 1,000, year after year. Contrary to what we keep hear repeated again and again, Islanders aren't "great hockey fans". Islanders are 'average' hockey fans, at best. They generally don't support their teams. Enough with the myths! Not sure what qualifies a province of people as "average, at best" hockey fans.... With a Major Junior team, CIS team and two Junior A teams, along with Major midget teams, and more rep midget, bantam and pee-wee teams than I can count, significant minor hockey tournaments all winter long...and hockey rinks located every 5 miles from Tignish to Souris....I think the people of this province, 130000 people strong, are darn good hockey fans. IF PEI hockey fans are at best average, who is above average? Please keep in mind that we have 130,000 people.

fans want to see a fast game of hockey.. not a bunch of players not getting along etc. Every year i think after the first season there have been players fighting vs each other etc. Once u have a solid team and not a bunch of babies and they actually care about winning and going somewhere in the playoffs is when u will see the fans in the seats. When the Rocket org actually starts putting more money into the team and for the fans u will see them back. video screens for one.. I mean just little things to get the game interesting to if its a bit boring at times. Doesn't have to be big at all just something to keep the crowd pumped etc. Improvements to the rink would be good too.. The Major thing the rocket need to do at this point is put a good product on the ice. Doesn't matter if they always win or not as long as they play the game hard and its a good game People wont care if they loose games here and there. The rocket will just see the numbers going down if they don't pick up the slack spend a few bucks to put fans in the stands Mix er up a bit get the building rocking. I wish we had a loud rink but its just not in the cards. Bottom line Rocket org need to spend some money put a good product on the ice and then they will see the difference in ticket sales ..

What people seem to be forgetting is that the Rocket DID put an exciting team on the ice last year.
For my money, of the four years the Rocket has been here, 2006-07 was by far the most exciting.
There were a lot of dandy games at the Morgue last year, with spectacular goals, excellent goaltending (for a change), lots of OT and shootouts, exciting new rookies like Doyle and Latal, and the most palpitating playoff series I've ever seen on PEI, featuring two heartbreaking OT losses, and a last-minute win in Game 5 to stave off elimination.
2006-07 was as entertaining as Major Junior can get, in my opinion.....but still, this being PEI, it didn't seem to bring the fans back, based on season-ticket sales, did it?

Just my opinion but I thought there were also a fair share of games that were far from exciting and were boring to watch. It was better than 2005-06 and not every game is going to be exciting and fast paced, but there were quite a few games where as people were exiting the CCC were saying "that's the last game that I am going to". You are going to get those games every now and then, but if you have too many of them it can turn people off the games. As I said I thought it was better than 2005-06 and perhaps this season can be better than last year. But I think a good playoff run would be a step in the right direction in getting fans back and being able to capitalize on that playoff run, not only on the ice, but off-ice also.

What people seem to be forgetting is that the Rocket DID put an exciting team on the ice last year. The team was exciting last year when they skated and fore checked, but the so called "System" that Jean had them play resulted in a lot of slow play in the neutral zone that was not that entertaining.

a new rink is not the answer... who the hell is gonna pay for said rink? taxpayers are already on the hook for the CARI complex and you have an organization that is too cheap to keep replay screens on for a year that sure as hell isn't going to foot the bill for a new facility.... sure renovations to the CCC are needed and would be awesome.. but building a new rink to try and keep a major junior team in town is not really a very wise decision.. especially a team that whines every chance they get about the market they chose to come too.. it's their job to adapat to us not ours to adapt to them
i love the game,, support the team every year.. but their problems are not on ice product or the rink they play in

Does anyone know when season tickets will be available for pick up? I think the first game is next Wednesday so I'd expect they should be ready any day.

Does anyone know when season tickets will be available for pick up? I think the first game is next Wednesday so I'd expect they should be ready any day. I can only tell you what they told me - the second time. Season tickets and flex-paks were supposed to be ready at the end of last week (OHW), or so I was told two weeks ago. They weren't available at the end of last week. Yesterday, I was told that season tickets and flex-paks would be available at the start of next week (Monday August 27th, I take it). I plan to call back before dropping down, just to get the latest estimate as to when they'll be available.

Maybe this sort of thing is part of why people don't/haven't renewed season tickets
Very sloppy but unfortunately also very expected

Office staff needs an overhaul, IMO - it's the front line in dealings with customers, so it's damn important!

I called today about the season tickets and I was told they should be in on monday of next week (the 27th). The person told me to call back then to ensure that my season ticket came in with the rest of the season tickets.
If the season tickets are supposed to be in on monday why the need to call back to ensure whether my tickets arrived with the other tickets? It wasn't re-assuring after that phone call whether the tickets would be in early next week or not.
Whether they are in on Monday or not, it is still BS that you only have 2 days before a game to pick up your season tickets.

Wow, when I renewed mine in Bathurst they were printed out right in front of me as well as the pre-season game tickets. The only thing I am waiting for is by discount booklet but that is usually ready by opening night.

Our tickets are usually "pimped" up...... player pics on them, Rocket colors and such. They send the order away to get done up, reason why it takes a bit for them to arrive.

not too flashy, home game number, opponent, date and time of game.

I like that idea of them printing off your tickets while you are there, you can go in at your convenience and walk out with your tickets. All you need on them is game number, opponent, date and time. It wouldn't be an issue if you are able to pick them up a week or 2 in advance because not everybody is able to get into the CCC at any given time due to work or because people live outside the city.
