I think we're going to have a solid Team this season. To make the "run" we need another big point getter up front, an offensive D'man, and an enforcer. I don't think we can trade to get all three without sacrificing too much of the future.
This years squad has great potential. We have some new blood behind the bench that may help developmentally. If the young guys come along We can have a pretty good year and you never know, if you peak at the right time with a hot goalie anything can happen in the play offs.

I, for one, am truly excited about this 2007-08 Rocket team - as excited as I can get about hockey in August, anyway.
It's almost enough to get me to renew my season tickets from two years ago.....almost.

Goal Lafleur or Waye Mosher What about lafleur stay with Hartford this year!(AHL) It would be good for Antoine but really not for the rocket... If he stay... we are in big trouble Defence Lessard Gervais Southorn Clow Malouin Swit Deighan Forward MORRISON-I hope that he'll be back! Kana Latal Walker Doyle Locke Cliche Lachaine McKinely MacLean McKinley Street Main

The way season tickets are dropping, if I was Savard I would be wanting to make a run this year, at least further into the playoffs or he'll be in worse trouble next season as he may lose another 10% of his season ticket holders if this year's team doesn't have a good run.

I cant understand what a lot of you are saying about the dmen for this season....you all have the lineup pegged with owens on the outside...on one hand you are saying that the rocket need an offensive dman ....but on the other hand you want malouin and deighan ahead of owens....malouin wont cut it this year(training camp is proving that) deighan played 2 games ....no points....owens 3 games 2 points...last year in th mjahl ...deighan had 18 points , owens had 36.... in camp this year i believe they are both even in +- , malouin is a bit behind....I think that deighan and owens should stay and malouin should go

In the case of Carey Price, I believe he joined Hamilton once his junior season was over. Then he played in the AHL under what is called an Amateur Tryout contract (approx 25 games in length I think) which junior aged players are allowed to sign. Claude Giroux from Gatineau did the same last year with Philadelphia and I believe he is playing in the Q this upcoming season.

It mentioned in the paper today that the Rocket may keep 8 D for the season. Either that means Owens stays or Main could be a defenceman. Despite my and many others thoughts that the Defense depth chart goes as follow
Lessard Southorn Gervais Clow Swit Malouin Deighan Owens
I get the feeling that the coaching staff sees it more like this
lessard southorn gervais Swit Malouin Deighan/Clow/Owens interchangeable
or
Lessard Southorn Gervais Main Swit Malouin Dieghan/Clow interchangeable
I certainly believe the first depth chart that we used is the most accurate, but I have the feeling that Clow will only play 30-40 games, and the same for Deighan and Owens. Am I crazy because what I saw was that Clow as a nervous rookie was better than Malouin, Swit, Deighan, and Owens?

I think Clow will play 55 games.. might see his icetime cut short late in games etc but I dont think he'll be a healthy scratch much at all
Deighan and/or Owens on the other hand I'd agree.. anywheres from 25-45 games at most should they make the team
and I like the versaitilty of Main being a forward/d.. he can play as a 4th line energy guy and then fall back to play D in the 3rd period to get him his icetime while not needlessly benching a developing young D like Clow
