I was looking on the main page of the Rocket website where they were showing the prices and the savings for the season tickets and the flex passes and noticed something that was different between the two. The season tickets and flex passes are the same price ($490) but there was a bigger savings for the flex passes....$140 for flex passes vs. $110 for season tickets and here is why:
Season tickets you get the following: 3 Exhibition Games, 35 Regular Season Games & 2 Playoff Games for a total of 40 games. The cost = $490
The flex passes you get: 40 regular season coupons and 2 playoff coupons for a total of 42 games. The cost = $490
I was wondering if anyone else noticed this. Why do flex pack holders get more tickets than the season ticket holders even though they are both the same price?

I believe there is more value in the season ticket if you plan to go to most games because you are guaranteed your seat every game. With a flex pack you may not get the seat you want and you have to go through the trouble of getting tickets for each game.
For example, I had a flex pack three seasons ago and tried to get tickets to the game that Crosby missed because he stayed in Cape Breton. It was part of that years Christmas Pack and I was slow and did not get a ticket. It worked out ok for me as Crosby was a no show.
Given sales the last two years I can not imagine a situation during regular season where you wont be able to get a ticket though.

Flex pack holders do have the privilage of buying tickets for games two weeks prior to them going on sale to the regular public. That means you can buy the September, October, November and December games earlier than others and you can buy the 2nd half games in December.
For the Crosby games, I had no trouble getting my tickets... because I bought them when flex pack holders could buy them before the general public.
I like the flex better. If you're going to miss a game you don't "lose the ticket". As far as seats go, with attendance as it's been in the past two seasons I have no trouble getting the same seats all the time.
I live outside of Charlottetown and I have a flex for the "flex"iblility should I not be able to get to a game.
I do have to deal with the box office, but I normally avoid phoning for tickets. I usually get tickets for upcoming games during the intermission of a games I'm at.
