Who cares why the screens aren't back...the fact is we need to do something to bring fans back in the rink...we also need some more fan participation...don't sit there like bumps on a log..cheer for your team..I know I go to every game and the 3 other ppl with me , we all cheer like crazy..nothing like being on the ice, and hearing your fans screaming and being behind you to give u momentum!!!! don't stare at all of us who make noise and give us dirty looks!!! we are showing our guys we love and appreciate them..so on Friday!!! Stand up and make some noise for your Rocket!!!!! GO ROCKET GO!!!!!

I appreciate Darcy's comments because I have no Idea how much its costs to run the system, but for most season ticket holders the screens are not going to be a deciding factor. I think most season ticket holders are there for the game. I get good value for my money without the screens, but thats me and I think many loyal Rocket fans.
What I'm trying to get at is the need to provide some additional entertainment for the marginal fan to make their experience better and maybe get them out to more games. I want to see the Rocket prosper here so we don't loose the team. The organization needs to find a way make a greater connection to fans and keep them coming out to the games.
The number of Islanders on the roster will likely help get some bodies to the CCC this year. Once there they have to be entertained and lured back.

Well put , I think the Rocket org must take a look internal and try and figure out what is going wrong. I know there are a few on this board that could tell them but it is time for the big boss to look at and step up. We all agree that the season ticket holder do not make a decision on buying if the screens are not there but for the game by game fan you have to make it a complete package that would want them to come back again. If you do that you will start to get more season ticket holders instead of less each season. Come on lets wake up and start to think for your fans not the $$, to make money you have to spend money.

People have discussed this time and time again about looking internal. I'll give my opinion to this....The PEI Rocket have been here long enough now that they should have gotten a finger on the pulse of Island hockey fans. They've been here long enough to know how things operate on our small province, and its far different from the big old city of Montreal. Its obvious that the marketing (or lack of) ideas that have been produced are not working. So a change is needed....and it means a huge change internally and it means getting rid of Gary Connolly....Serge and the rest of the Rocket brass need to hire someone who has a successful track record of marketing in PEI. They would have pulse on what Islanders want, and where and how to make the team more appealing.....
Its a basic concept really, when someone can't seem to get their job done successfully then you replace them with someone who can. Islanders love their hockey and will go to games when they feel their business is actually wanted. To whine in the paper that more seats need to be filled but hide upstairs every game is not gonna do one damn thing about it. Sure it may be hard to make change, it usually is, but I bet you'd see a dramatic rise in tickets sold if someone marketed this team the right way and the Rocket brass actually showed that they listen to Islanders and just don't consider us rednecks from a really small province.
I for one love the hockey and sure as hell don't want to lose this team so I hope that Serge and the rest of the big wigs figure it out and do it soon....
IMO

Here's an idea, it assumes the organization still has the equipment to use the projectors and cost should not be high.
Holland College offers a multi media program. Try to collaborate with the College and get the students to do a project where they would create a short multi media presentation on a player. They could combine an interview with still and motion shots. The clips could be aired during intermissions and later posted on the web site. site. Maybe the fans could vote via a web poll on their favorite clip and the student with the best project could get a small cash prize. Maybe even offer Holland College students a discount on the night they play the clips.
This helps promote the team and creates an opportunity for Holland College to show case its students and their work.
Time to put the thinking caps on ...

I'm sure when you're in the hot seat they don't come as easy. The real work is in the implementation. I can not wait for Friday when I'll begin to think more about the hockey than the bells and whistles.

I can not wait for Friday when I'll begin to think more about the hockey than the bells and whistles. what does that mean? all I'm saying is would it kill everyone to actually stand when they score and cheer them..instead of sitting on their asses and clap a little bit...show them we appreciate them...I'm not talking about yelling and screaming as the play is on...we sit and watch and cheer when it is appropriate...like on the penalty kill and they get it out of the zone, when they score , etc...what is wrong with that?

My post was a reply to the previous and I have corrected it. It was not intended as comment on your post. I had started mine before you posted and got interupted before I finished and yours ended up in between.

Section 3 last year and the year b4 that but we got seats in 17 this year hope its louder there we are in 21...right beside the bench...LOL when did they move the bench to the corner? i actually think the whole argument of fans being unappreciative in the rink is overblown... you're never gonna make the old stuffy folk let loose and go nuts.... but there is definitely plenty of warranted applause thru the rink of course none of this has anything to do with video screens really
