Took the wrong 20 from Cape Breton.Heard Brad Gallant was available at the time, fix tough guy situation and put a veiw more fans in the rink.I here Cb real happy with the trade though.

20 year old enforcers aren't ideal for contending clubs either
But you're right I am sure Cape Breton is quite happy with the trade.. they get 1-2 years service out of Haddad for a guy who will struggle to make our top 5 d

Yah I know it was a Really Really Bad Trade IMO, Chances are we wont get rid of him till Xmas time from a team out of the running and wanting a good draft choice Id rather have Haddad then Swit Any Day If you've gotten to see how good Joey's looked this training camp, you'd feel a lot worse. But in all honesty, both players were not going to play in their respective situations, and a change of scenery was a must for both. Swit won't hurt you much in the regular season, will be a good veteran to talk with your young studs on D, and is apparantly a good dressing room guy as well. What he does seem to lack at time is what Pierre Maguire calls intestinal fortitude. He is one of the only players I've ever heard Pascal Vincent call out in the paper for being a bit yellow, which for all his faults is unheard of for Pascal. What Swit does is give your younger guys more time to develop with less pressure until Christmas, and it cost you a guy you would have put on waivers this year anyways. But if Jason is a Rocket after Christmas, I'll be shocked.

In regards to Haddad last season he looked terrific in training camp and even had a hot start to the year and quickly moved up to our second line. The problem with Haddad has never been his skill level it is keeping him motivated to give a consistent effort. I hope the change of scenery works for him but the true test is what Haddad shows CB after the first 2 months of the year.

Drop Swit and bring in Gallant. Good team guy with toughness. Just what the Rocket are lacking.

Drop Swit and bring in Gallant. Good team guy with toughness. Just what the Rocket are lacking. A real nice article by Deer what Gallant did for them in the playoffs . If Gallant could do the same come playoffs it would be worth a look. Liked ex. against Bergeron in the bathurst series. I would tranfer article but I dont know how.

It's not an article it's a post.. i agree its very well written.. unfortunately for Brad he's 20 and sliding him in our current lineup would address only one need (enforcer) .. not worth it IMO.. if he were 19 i'd say go for it

I would say that this thread is a bit premature considering Swit was one of the best players out on the ice for the Rocket in the season opener. From what the announcers were saying he was solid on d for the Eagles last season and should help the Rocket out. Give the guy a chance...he deserves that after his play tonight.

I personally wasn't overly impressed with him tonight......but we all have different opinons.
I thought it got caught up a few times, and really did not a whole lot. He had one solid rush, from what I seen.
Then again, he was not our only Dman that played poorly tonight...........I

I thought Swit had a much better game tonight then in the preseason, although I thought his last game against Moncton in Charlottetown wasn't bad either, unlike most on here. There really wasn't anyone on D that stood out tonight though, hopefully everyone will gel and be more ready for Sunday's game.

Hey played good make a few mistakes went for some big hits and missed the player all together and the moose almost scored on that chance. Played a bit better then he did in other games he needs to use his body along the boards. Its going to be tough for this guy i think.

If they want to put more people in the rink most nights, and not hurt the team, cut Swit and add Gallant BEFORE someone else does!!!
