Nothing says playoffs like golf course ads on the screen all intermission. That'll get 'em going.

Wow....I know they were being outplayed, but I didn't see that one coming......I walked away from the screen with 2 minutes left and was expecting an overtime game......couldn't believe it was 4-1.

Good play by Holwell on the tying goal. Bad play by Holwell on the winning goal. He'll learn and quite frankly the better team won anyway. The Cats generated next to nothing all game.
Crowd was about what I expected, but the atmosphere was awful. Granted the Armada came in and played their boring road game to perfection so the roof wasn't exactly going to be coming off the place with that type of game.
I know a lot of people don't care about this type of stuff, but it really baffles me that the Cats idea of an intense playoff intro video includes the song "Wild Side". I swear they throw these things together at the last minute. It's really pathetic compared to some of the other teams in the Maritimes, but I've lost hope for anything to change there.

They didn't show any sort of intensity until half way through the 3rd. You won't beat BBA if you let them skate and make passes uncontested. You half to pound them every chance you get.
The crowd was dead becuase the team was dead. When they started to work in the 3rd the crowd came to life.
Even though we made it interesting late ... we didn't deserve to win.

Shots on net first two periods tell it all, you won't win games against Armada with that. I didn't see any offense at all in this game until mid third period

It felt more like an exhibition game than a playoff game. There was practically no hitting from either side. Lots of floating. No urgency. No energy in the crowd.
A key thing in the playoffs is to have a short memory. Time to reset and refocus.

I don't agree that Holwell's play was bad on the winning goal. Simpson had clearly covered his position, but took a wrong step and lost his position. I'm a big fan of Simpson and the way he plays. He isn't the best skater, but makes up by rarely getting out of position and because of his reach. However, he lost his position which led to the leading goal.

When Holwell attempted his deke/play, Simpson was closer to the net than he was so I wouldn't say he "clearly covered his position". However, I'm not gonna fault a 16 year old defenseman for a game. Especially when you consider he made a terrific play on the only goal the Wildcats scored and they didn't deserve to win the game anyway.

Bottom line is when a D gets out of position to make a play, most of the time, the center goes the opposite way. I am unsure exactly when Tom Dick or Harry was closest to the net, but if you get the chance to see the replay, you'll see Simpson making exactly one wrong step instead of taking ownership of the D position he was suppose to cover. Maybe it's a shared responsibility! All I know is the puck was bouncing all over the place during that play and it seemed it would never fall on the right stick.

Lalonde lost the puck, Garland fell down, Simpson got poked, Holwell lost the puck. Hard to really blame anyone. It seemed like they had trouble handling the puck all night. It's probably a matter of both teams trying to adapt to Coliseum ice.
