Game 3 between Halifax and Gatineau goes tonight at the Bob at 8:30pm. Might have to support Telus and order the poor excuse of a webcast. It kills me to support such an awful product.
I think Gatineau will put up more of a fight in this one. They played us tight last year at home and much has changed about the two teams. Halifax needs to get out in front early to try and frustrate them. Fucale is going to have to be solid tonight. This will probably be his busiest game yet.
No Darcy Ashley tonight. As mentioned in the article yesterday, he won't be available for games 3 & 4 but is making good progress.
I'll say 5-4 Moose in O/T simply because 4-3 O/T is already claimed by Conky. Go Moose!!

I will be playing lots of Motorhead for my pre-game meal, as usual. My game face was on when I woke up.
Hard to predict what will happen, the Olympiques are capable of playing, inspired and disciplined hockey. But as you have all observed, they are also fully capable of indiscipline.
Groulx normally runs a great bench, and now he has last change.
Good luck to both clubs, let's hope for fast, clean hockey.

Well, I predicted Halifax in 6 and this would be one I would have expected them to win so... 4-2 Gatineau.
They are a very good team, and will give us trouble at home. I hope I am wrong and that we prove to be too skilled for them and take a stranglehold on this series. But you have to figure they will need to play their best game tonight.
Hopefully our PP continues to click, and their`s does not.

7-2 Moose.
The Moose will continue to play smart 5 on 5, and punish Gatineau on the power play.

5-3 Moose
Gatineau needs to be more disciplined but a lot of why they are taking penalties is that they don't have an answer for the speed/tempo Halifax is playing at. If a guy is blowing past you or has a step on you then you'll probably hook/slash/trip and hope it gets missed. The refs aren't missing much though.
Gatineau took 4 tripping penalties in Game 2 which says they are a step behind. There aren't a lot of roughing penalties which, IMO, is the mark of undisciplined play. Gat is having to trip, hook, and slash because they are reacting to Halifax's tempo.

Poirier took a couple real stupid penalties in game one that were behind the play. But yah if they're taking obstruction penalties it's a better sign for the Moose IMO.

Yes lost in all the "they need to be more disciplined" talk is that many of these penalties are going to happen over and over given the skill on our team. You can "take away" the PPG`s we`ve scored to make an argument for the close games, but really - we are going to get PPs and we are probably going to score on them too, so what does that even mean lol? If they are going to chase us around, sometime 2 at a time, with lots of subtle hooks and slashes etc, they will often get penalized for it. Unless they change their style, they won`t cut down on too many penalties. If they change their style, we will run them over IMO.

Gat can't change their style much because if they don't hook and trip then there will be 5 on 5 goals instead of PP goals. To me, Charlottetown played undisciplined/greasy in Rd 1 and they paid for it on the PK with PP goals but Gatineau's issue in taking penalities is one of being out-skilled, not of trying to rough up Halifax.

I agree with Crazy Joe. If Gatineau is going to win one this would be the game. I hope I am wrong. Go Moose!
