have the admins all get together and vote.....pick them that way. Hard to believe though, that out of 1630 members you only got 11 ballots. It takes 3 minutes to complete it. Of that how many are active tho? Especially since the Bathurst posters all took their ball and went to a different board. About half of the boards posts come from members with more than 4000. Steve and Billy combined make up almost 10%

Plenty of them are active......in the last 24 hours 129 of them have been to the board.....and it's the off season, so the numbers are down from usual....to only get 11 votes, just shows that people are not really that interested in it.

I sent one in. Surprised so few ballots have been entered; not that it matters to me. I guess with the Mooseheads and CHL season over, out of sight out of mind. People are probably moving on to their spring activities.

I guess I haven't voted simply because I don't really know who to vote for. Don't get me started on "Mod of the year" we all know how I feel about the moderators. Then when voting for posters from each team I have to decide between voting for a friend or vote for someone more active.

I find the general mood of the board to be a little on edge, which could explain the lack of enthusiasm for the Golden Poster Awards. It seems like petty arguments are an everyday occurance. Many jokes are immediately dismissed as trolling. Maybe the summer period and some time off will be a good thing.

I voted, but I agree you tend to lean toward your own board. I recognize some names from those who post on the Eagles board, but if someone is more prevalent on their own board and is an all-star because of that, I may not have the whereabouts to vote for them.
Also, of the hundreds that regularly visit, how many actually post regularly? The pool of users who would be around enough to have a familiarity with those who do post might be quite small to begin with.
I know myself, too, is like critiquing staff members under me once a year....have to really think about what they actually did during the year if I didn't make notes along the way.
Perhaps it might be better to either: A) leave the voting open all summer to see if anyone else joins in or B) forego the awards for this year
have a great summer, guys and gals (if we ever get the weather to remind us it's summertime)

Anymore entries/interest so far? Also tough to get maximum participation after the season is over. I assume a lot of people want to get away from this place in the off-season.

It was pretty light - I have 12 ballots. Do people think this is a big enough sample to award anything? I'm not so sure.

I would wait until pre-season starts back up and advertise the contest again. See if more folks participate. Don't think 12 is enough when the board probably has over 100 people that contribute regularly.

Not much point in having a poll when a member can't vote. BTW, not all the poster have gone to the other board.
