I see in today's Metro that Jonathon Drouin says he's done with the Mooseheads and the Q.
I wish he wouldn't say things like that. I mean it makes sense, but just about as much as last year - in the end it's not going to be up to him to decide. You hate to burn your bridges too soon.

The blurb was titled "Drouin doesn't want to come back to Mooseheads," which was pretty sensationalist. All he's actually quoted as saying is "I'm over (being sent back)" and that he's "more mature" now. He didn't burn any bridges in that interview, they just wrote it like he did so that people would talk about it.

He probably meant that he'll play well enough in camp to have the Lightning to keep him in the NHL moreso than him saying he doesn't want to go back to the Mooseheads if the Lightning send him back to Junior. According to reports, he's played well in their prospect camp, not just with his skill, but also with his physical and mental maturity. I would take anything Drouin says with a grain of salt. He's confident... borderline (or not) cocky. But that's his personality. You have to be cocky to pull off some of the stuff he does. I doubt he means anything negative towards the Mooseheads organization or its fans. It's the media's job to make something out of nothing.

If somebody had an opportunity to play NHL ... getting paid well to play ... celebrity status ... fulltime pro athlete ... living on his own (maybe) ... moving to Florida for the winter ... moving to a pro Baseball/Football City ... travelling around the great cities of the US and Canada by plane ... they'd be lying if they said they wouldn't mind coming back to Halifax for another season on the bus, and all that entails (billets, school work, having to go to Bathurst, etc.). I know he is a cocky kid ... probably not the best teammate ... but I'd rather people speak honestly instead of saying the politically correct BS that everybody seems to want to hear. If I was him ... I wouldn't want to come back to Halifax either.

Yeah it's not like he's insulting Halifax- he's not comparing coming back to Halifax to say, coming back and playing in Val d'Or. He's comparing it to playing in Tampa. Halifax loses that faceoff every time.

Anyone hear any rumblings about John Marino showing up. Probably more of a chance of Resop showing up. He might be a surprise this year.

Marino was the only player from his league to make the NHL CS '15 draft watch list.
What pick to we end up with if report him as "not reporting"?
