I do not know what is going to happen on Saturday (and Friday for that matter since the trade window officially opens then) but I do know that this weekend is going to be very interesting. There are a lot of pieces/ assets for Dumont to play with if he so chooses. I don't think the Eagles have ever in their history gone into a draft with so many valuable draft picks. In terms of moving up, you always need a willing partner in order to do that so there is no guarantee. There is also the possibility that he could trade some picks for players, maybe in the 17-18 year old range, but again you need a willing trading partner. This draft is harder to truly speculate about because there are so many variables. Does Saturday feel like Christmas to anyone else? LOL They don't have to look to far really. Victo and RN own 4 of the 5 picks ahead of CB. Dropping down a few spots and adding 2nd might make sense to one of them. The other thing though is if your thinking about passing on Fitzpatrick at 5 I see both Victo and RN maybe grabbing him with there picks. They are in need of there next goalie too.

They have the potential to move ahead of us and nab him as well

4 for 8 and 9 4 for 10 and 11 Certainly in the realm of possibilities. And you think Gat will do that? 4 to 8 is a big drop on talent in this draft. The top 5 are pegged as difference makers. You don't drop out of that epically when you already have the 7th pick anyways. Gat is not trading there 4 pick. Not for 2 picks after there next pick anyways.

Speculation makes these boards go around
Dealing only with facts would make this a pretty dull place

That's all it is. There is a difference between the two.

Interesting that Chicoutimi had to go out and secure a higher 1st as a part of the Roy trade. Moving from 19 to 13 while giving nothing up is a big jump. I've read nothing in regards to the 2015 picks we own from Chicoutimi and Drummondville which I find interesting. I think some just assumed Drummondville's pick goes back to them for a player while Chicoutimi's was always a part of the Roy trade. Adds an interesting dynamic to the weekend with all of these trade chips. Have the Euro rules changed in regards to us drafting another this year since Svechnikov did not report? I mean Svechnikov is '80%' according to Dumont but if we can find a 100% and are forced to move someone is it all that bad? Judging by the mess going on between Charlottetown and Gatineau there must be some changes. I also notice that yet again the CB Post offers an article with the same information we already have heard. Yet there's nothing about Darcy and whether the team expects him back. No questions or comments about the goaltending that completely derailed the teams season. No mention of moving up to 13 after it's been reported elsewhere and incorrect facts and numbers all over the place. The quality of reporting from that paper has absolutely died in the last decade. Interesting once again that Jack Bauer can not see the end of his nose on his face as he states in his thread that the main reason ooppps sorry I will take his words the goaltending that completely derailed the teams season were the hell were you during the last say six to eight games of the year when we did not bad from what I saw oh and yeah I agree with the fact that we got our ass kicked by Gatineau in the first round but GEEZ please be honest with your assessment as it's a team sport and if you have a look at the game tapes you will clearly notice this was not only a one position breakdown as YOU put it usually you post some good stuff but my friend here you are in the dark We know who is returning on D and that 1 veteran at least. Do we know what the goaltending plans are right now? Does anyone have confidence in Fortin? Will we be looking to draft one high or acquire a veteran? There are lots of questions and no answers because nobody is asking the questions. I see that you believe there are no issues for the Eagles between the pipes. Personally I think it was a big reason for the egg laid in the post season.

Goaltending is a huge concern, but not addressed through the draft - yes, Dumont needs to draft the best goalie available, but there isn't a stud this year that can step in as a 16 yo and make an impact, so he needs to make a trade for a top 18 or 19 year old to play 45 - 50 gms this coming season.

Not sure how you can say there isn't a stud this year when Fitzpatrick is one of the best goalie prospects in the Q in a very long time. Here's a Q scouts opinion on him: "All my years scouting in the QMJHL and this guy i would have to say is easily the best goaltender I have watched in over a decade. his size and IQ in the net are just really great to watch, amazing positioning, great rebound control, excellent reflexes, and is a big game goalie who makes amazing saves to keep his team in the game...I personally think this guy could be the best since Roberto Luongo." He also has great size: 191 cm / 6'3"

I think it's still Brassard from the Remparts and hopefully Fitzpatrick, but not too often does a goalie go in the top 10 in Major Junior so I think it's going to be the best player at 5

This from lbud23 on the seadogs board I cannot find the article that he is referring to.
"Interesting that the Telegraph Journal says Auger is a lock to be one of the 20 year-olds in Saint John. At the same time, the Journal de Quebec is reiterating the Auger/Booth trade rumour. The Journal article also states that Brassard is supposed to go to Gatineau for Reway."
