Barring any last minute blockbusters here's what we may be able to expect to see on the ice come September. But I am sure by then this will look comically incorrect Pelletier (18) / Farrell (20) / Gauthier (19) Lazarev (18) / Bishop (18) / Svechnikov (18) Legare (20) / Simard (18) / Gray (19) Tower (17) / Dubois (16) / Lyle (19) Brunelle (19) / L'Italien (16) Deschamps (18) / Lalonde (17) Bell (17) / Leveille (18) Nosella (19) / Baillargeon (17) Corbeil (16) / Beaudoin (16) Brassard (20) / Fortin (19) Wildcards: Cameron Darcy (20) would be 1st line center and likely bump Legare Justin Hache (20) really doubtful to return but would be #1 D if he did. Both he and Darcy returning would be great but lead to some tough decisions being made. Michael O'Leary (16) says he's NCAA bound yet went in 1st round which immediately leads to speculation. Colby Muise (16) is a young goaltender which we have very few of. Assets: 3 2015 1st rounders including Chicoutimi's and Drummondville's 2 2015 2nd rounders including Moncton's 2 2015 3rd rounders including Bathurst's This team has the potential to win the division as is. Depending on how the 20yo situation turns out the potential is there to be a top contender for the league championship, especially when looking at the assets available to improve the team during the trade period. Should be a very exciting team.

Definitely exciting times for CB.
The present looks like a contender and there are still a load of future assets from O'Leary to 5 more picks in the top 2 rounds of next years draft.

Just to note, Deschamps will be 18 this up coming season.

With Darcy:
Farrell - Darcy - Pelletier Lazarev - Bishop - Svechnikov Lyle - Simard - Gauthier Tower - Dubois - Gray
Deschamps - Leveille Bell - Lalonde Nosella - Baillargeon
I wasn't very impressed with Gauthier last year, he took a lot of stupid retaliation penalties and didn't really find his scoring grove.
Pelletier I think could easily play on the first line this year, his shot is lethal and Darcy will give him great opportunities to score.
Bishop looked good with Lazarev last year so may as well keep him at 2C with the Russians.
I think Leveille made big strides in the 2nd half of last year and he might be able to play the top pair.
We also have enough assets to theoretically get the absolute best player available at the trade period as well.

Why do people think Darcy may not be back?

Why do people think Darcy may not be back? Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk He's a 20 year old coming off a very strong Q season, so he attracted NHL teams attention, I think there's a good chance he signs as a free agent and goes straight to the AHL/ECHL.

Pelletier-Farrel-Gauthier Lazarev-Bishop-Svechnikov (Probably our best line IMO) Legare Simard-Tower Brunelle-Dubois-Gray Other 19/20 depth guy-Lyle
Deschamps-Lalonde Bell-Nosella Leveille-Baillargeon 19/20 Depth D-Beaudoin
Brassard/Fortin

[/quote] If I'm not mistaken he's draft eligible this year, if he goes undrafted he's then eligible to be signed as a free agent.

Why do people think Darcy may not be back? Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk Ask the GM who acquired another 20 rather then overpay for a 19yo goaltender. As we have been saying since the season ended there is no guarantee he comes back so we need to plan as if his return is q bonus rather then rely on it.

Brassard and Fortin is a solid duo for next season. If we need to grab another 20 yo goaltender the following season so be it. Dumont stayed the course today and it looks promising

Better to have too many overagers come the start of the season than not enough.
If Darcy is sent back, 1 of the overagers can be dealt immediately. Overagers can be moved when the trade window is closed. Saw it last year with Olivier Archambault when he was cut from his pro try-out.

Why did they trade for Sullivan then ? He was just a throw in to battle Fortin for the backup role. Did you think they got him to start?

Best thing for the Eagles is for someone to draft Darcy. If that happens, they would almost certainly send him back to buy them a year, so they can further evaluate him and decide on offering him an ELC. If he remains a FA, then one strong training camp somewhere could get him a deal.
The defence doesnt look very good. Potential yes, but young and inexprienced. But you have a talented goalie with something to prove who can potentially hide some flaws there. You have enough 1sts and 2nds going into next year that you can add a top pairing D and still be fine after this year. I would be surprised if the Eagles are anything but serious buyers this winter. Im not sure if I would put you ahead of Moncton or Charlottetown right now, but you have much more in the way of assets to use in the trade market.
If Darcy is back, I think the Eagles are a top 9 forward (not neccesarily top 6) and a #1 defenceman away from a legit top 4 team.
