Another goal.....
Honestly, I just gotta shake my head at the play in our own zone.
This D needs some help!

Ouch, that was painful!
Absolutely no defensive play in the 3rd period, no effort whatsoever.
Lafleur has been shaky thus far this year - good thing they picked up Gélinas, I think.
Still, it's only SEPTEMBER, folks!
People have been reading way too much into these meaningless early-season games.
Several times, the Rocket has got off to a sizzling start, but then fell apart when the weather got cold.
I still have a good feeling about this team - but the PP is still a major worry.
Dollars to dumplings that this team will go out and get an experienced defenseman come Christmas time.

The Rocket PP is absolutely horrible. This really does need to be addressed. This may not happen until they get a good point man for the power play. Hopefully a trade or maybe picking up an unclaimed 20 year old D man might help this pitiful power play. The attendance was a lot less then last night at this game. Shows that it is not just us when the home team plays poorly. I go to all games no matter what though. I really enjoy this level of hockey. I sure hope the Rocket are here for years to come!

Our D-zone coverage in the 3rd was absolutely horrible. IMO, this loss has nothing to do with Lafleur, but lays on the the hands of the D-zone shitty play.

Lafleur experienced tonight what Timo experienced last night ... total defensive melt down, Lafler play a good game I wouldn’t pin the loss on him.

Didn't get a chance to watch the game. Were Rocket playing good up until the third?

They way I see it, I think this is just a matter of fatigue setting in on the road trip. PEI played 5 good solid periods of hockey. The 6th period, the wheels just fell off. They were not the same team. They were a little slowerm the passes were no longer as crisp. I think that's the big factor.
Lafleur played amazing at points including one series i nthe first period where he must have stopped 4-5 point blank shots. Then in the 3rd he made, arguably, one of the best glove hand saves I've ever seen.
Morrison owns us. He's a real threat anytime he's on the ice. For the most part he seemed to do what he wanted.
But of course, as a Fog fan, I'm happy with the result. I was glad JS and TJ were back and both played well despite having just flown in that day.
Thanks for the good games and good chat PEI. Looking forward to when we do it again... still 6 more games left.
Cheers all and good luck until we meet again.

They were not the same team. They were a little slowerm the passes were no longer as crisp. I think that's the big factor. Perhaps due to only playing 6 or 7 forwards and 4 defenseman for most of the 2 games instead of it being a case of a road trip. If Jean is indeed coaching to save his job, that kind of thing works in the short term, but usually catches up with the coach and the team in the long term. Those 6 or 7 forwards and 4 defenseman will have played way too much come playoffs and the rest of the players won't be ready or developed by then because they won't be as familiar with the systems in game situations as they should be.

Good post wingman.......Jean has to start playing the WHOLE bench. The guys are going to start running out of stream real fast. The announcers on Eastlink were mentioning Morrison and the fact that he was constantly on the ice. Brett will end up injured and that will not be a good scene. In order for the players to develop they have to be in game situations, period. For the life of me I don't know why Jean has a player sitting on the bench for the whole game and not get one single shift This guy has a funny way of coaching and from what we have seen the last few seasons, it is not working.

It's how he has coached this team the entire time he's been here....his time is getting short if he continues down this path. His coaching style and tactics will only hurt the players development in the long run if they dont' get to play, we can't only depend on 3-4 players tops to get us some points, the team will go nowhere fast if this is the case.

Jean was Martel's apprentice before coming to PEI and he clearly inherited Martel's coaching style.
It hasn't brought anything tangible to Martel and won't for the Rocket either.
I always named hin the goon-coach after the events in Bathurst a couple of years back....
In my book he is by far the Rocket's main liability.....

I actually have to say i agree with CHSB.....time to cut Jean loose.....regardless, his coaching style is never gonna make this team a winning one....one that goes deep in the playoffs!
