IMO Brassard is overrated.....it`s really an average goaler and he is very bad in play-off Hard to judge him on last years quick playoff exit. Its not like it was all his fault. Its really going to depend on the young d infront of him. He is not going to be able to stand on his head, but then again beaudry isn't back there this year giving up 2 on 1s every second shift. Kinda why most want a top 2 d added to the team.

Beaudry must have done something right last season signing a pro deal this off season with the Allen Americans, one of the top notch organizations of the CHL.

It bugs me how his offensive upside always over shadowed how bad he was defensively. Yes he put up points and that's great, but anyone who watched the team knew he caused many odd man rushes when he couldn't get back. It's like subban in a sense, everyone see's the bullet of a shot, And don't look at the pentalies and bad defensive plays. Just my opinion.

I agree, however last season he was a nice addition due to the lack of offence our forwards could provide. If he worked on his defensive side of things, I could see him being a serious threat.

You can expect the Eagles to finish among the top in the league and possibly top in the division. I can tell you you haven't missed much since you last followed the eagles except the teams from 2007 to 2010. Some players to look out for are: Evgeny Svechnikov- highly touted prospect for the 2015 NHL draft Clark Bishop-drafted in 5th round by Carolina in 2014 Julien Pelletier-draft 4th round by Columbus in 2014 Maxim Lazarev-3rd overall pick by Cape Breton in the 2013 chl import draft Kyle Farrell Loik Leveille Guillaume Gauthier Jason Bell- 12th overall pick by the eagles in the 2013 Q draft Pierre-Luc Dubois- 5th overall pick by the eagles in the 2014 Q draft Does anyone know why Svechnikov was available in round 2 at the import draft when he was the 2nd pick in the KHL draft ( 6 spots better than Lazarev). Just wondering how he wasn't taken alot sooner? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_KHL_Junior_Draft#Round_1

On another note, anyone hearing anything on the 19 year old waiver draft? Seems odd that Dumont is going with 12 forwards, usual number is 14. Just thinking he might add a 19 year old at the waiver draft, a FA and possibly Mason Gray to fill the last two holes when they return from Russia.

I am pretty confident Cape Breton can win this Maritime Division with about 88 points - They are a year away from a 95+ point year and going for it.
Halifax is a little better than Moncton/Charlottetown in the division. But the Cape Breton roster is more ready to improve faster than the Charlottetown one. I think the Islanders and Eagles will be top teams in the CHL at the same time in 2015-16.

Will be tight between Charlottetown and CB.
I see Hfx surprising some people and coming in with a close third before Christmas but they are really no #2 like you say. Charlottetown on paper has improved by leaps and bounds.

I think they'll just miss winning the division and finish a close second to the Islanders.

Here is why I disagree. CB and Char will be among best teams in the Q in 2015-16, but this year Cape Breton has the right mix of age and skill to take the little step and win the division. Halifax has 4 players left from their championship team and honestly in January will have to think hard about where they will place when considering whether to keep one all-star goalie or not.
Charlottetown could win 20 more games than last year - but they are still a little young and I think a year off actually challenging for it.... Every team has that year they climb up into the discussion then the year they are top 6-8 in league and then maybe elite. Cape Breton is a year ahead of Charlottetown.
It will not hurt these teams to have games against Dogs/Titans to pad the stats, but outside the Maritime @rim @que @r-N @blb I see Cape Breton more competitive right now than the Islanders.. Thats my take on 2014-15 but in 2015-16 they will both be elite teams (however Im not partial to either team for what its worth)

Pretty close to a full on rebuild there. To be honest it's a full on down year for the league as a whole. The top teams are going to be top teams by a bunch. The middle is going to be clogged up.

Who are some big guns / names to look out for on the Charlottetown roster? Have they made many off season acquisitions / impact rookies or are they mostly returning young talent from last season?

Dan Sprong, Mason MacDonald (G), and then Sydney native Mitchell Balmas (top 10 Q pick) are probably 3 guys worth looking out for.
