Wildcats have cut Noah Archibald, Richie Greenberg, Jonathen Cloutier, Liam Conrad, Mickeal Lafrance, Marc-Olivier Duquette, and Felix Martin from camp. Tesink, Mann, S. Cormier, Dominie and Thivierge are left with 2-3 spots remaining for D. Jacob, Corson, L. Cormier, Tibbo and Curtis remain among forwards battling for the last 3 spots. Kelly left as third string G 30 players left, so probably 3-4 more cuts tomorrow. Thivierge must have cleared waivers...I assume he would play tomrrow... Forgot one. I believe dman Hedges is still in camp as well.

Shannon is a V-Reds guy..... Curtis is a v-reds kid. Also brings some grit. L. Cormier plays with grit. Cats need some sand paper in lineup. Jacob.... Dad works for the team.
Corson... likely just keeping him around for the experience until his school starts, Tibbo....good guy to have close by as an AP.
Last 2 guys are out IMO.

I was watching Tesink pretty closely last night and I absolutely love his game. Good skater, not afraid to jump up into the play but he never really seems to get caught either. Extremely smart hockey player. He's making it awfully tough for them to cut him.

The only downside is his size. He needs to hit the gym and put on some weight. I'm sure he will grow as the year goes on though as his brothers are much taller. I would prefer to see him have a year in Jr.A with Dieppe. I think it would benefit him greatly rather than have him as the #7 D here

Tesink and Corson would benefit from another yaer MAAA. Corson even moreso coming from high school.

For Tesink it is either Q or Jr A ... he has nothing left to prove in the midget ranks. He would be better off in the maritime league but he is a kid that will take what he is given and will work for what he deserves. I personally would like to see him stick in the Q! He is a phenomenal skater and has a pretty good hockey sense for a kid of his size. Does the name Kevin Gagne ring a bell? Look at how small he was and he turned into a great Q defenceman on a good Saint John team!

Not sure Tesink can play Jr A ... 16 YOs can only play Jr A if they play at home and SJ does not have a Jr A team. He might qualify to play out of St. Stephen if that new franchise is ready to go this year.
I think it will be MAAA or here ... and that limited option will probably keep him here.

Dieppe drafted him so chances are he lands there.

Wildcats have cut 3 more players:
Goalie Alex Kelly Dman JC Thivierge Dman Thomas Hedges
28 players left
Goalies 1. Alex Dubeau (20) - Signed 2. Jason Rioux (18) - Signed
Defencemen 1. Jacob Sweeney (19) - Signed 2. Garrett Johnston (19) - Signed 3. Matthew Klebanskyj (18) - Signed 4. Zachary Malatesta (18) - Signed 5. Adam Holwell (17) - Signed
Alexander Mann (18) Shayne Dominie (17) Sebastien Cormier (17) Marcus Tesink (16)
Forwards 1. Christophe Lalonde (20) - Signed 2. Ivan Barbashev (19) - Signed 3. Vladimir Tkachev (19) - Signed 4. Stephen Johnson (19) - Signed 5. Conor Garland (18) - Signed 6. Stephan Seeger (18) - Signed 7. Mathieu Olivier (17) - Signed 8. Will Bower (17) - Signed 9. Will Smith (17) - Signed 10. Cameron Askew (17) - Signed 11. Eric Leger (17) - Signed 12. Liam Murphy (16) - Signed
Benji Curtis (18) Kyle Tibbo (18) Lane Cormier (17) Alexandre Jacob (17) Noah Corson (16)
Personally, I think they will keep 8 dmen with Mann, Dominie and Tesink rotating until they find a 20yo to fill the hole on D. Once the new 20 is with the team I could see them sending Tesink to Dieppe Jr. A.
Up front, I think Jacob and Cormier are locks to make the team at this point. I think Corson will be cut in order to give him a year to develop with lots of ice time and hopefully get bigger. The last spot will come down to Tibbo or Curtis which is basically a coin flip for me.

At forward I'd go with Jacob Cormier and Curtis. Tibbo has been good but not good enough, can keep him as AF and maybe a midseason call up if he rips up Jr.A. Corson needs a year of growing and playing in Jr.A.

IMO, Curtis and Cormier are basically interchangeable, I'd go with the younger.

IMO, Curtis and Cormier are basically interchangeable, I'd go with the younger. They need a lot of sandpaper in the bottom of the lineup as they have a pretty "smurfy" team...hence why I think both Curtis and Cormier make it.
