is Morrison floating or conserving energy? I find it hard to believe a guy can be floating or sulking to the tune of 1.5 ppg... while i agree Walker has been our best 20 y/o and Latal has probably been our most consistant threat in the games i've seen.. i think it's wrong to accuse Morrison of dogging his playI think with reduced icetime we could see the morrison we saw last playoffs against Bathurst again
While it may......or may not......be fair to say that Morrison is floating, the fact remains that, when he's on the ice, from where I sit, he sometimes looks to be floating. This could very well be from being overplayed, and I don't doubt that it is part of the problem.
But, my biggest concern lay in the fact that he seems to be trying to do too much by himself. Every defenceman in the league knows how dangerous he can be, and tries to play him accordingly. Yet, Morrison, rather than pass, or dump the puck into the zone, will try to razzle-dazzle his way into the offensive zone, more often than not turning the puck over. He does this far too often, IMO.
In the shootout against the Foggies, Morrison only saw the bench in the overtime (and rightfully so), and was the only player not standing during that time. Not very good leadership, if you ask me.
Isn't he supposed to lead by example.....and not just on the ice? Perhaps they should pull that 'A' off his jersey....let him do what he does best...play hockey. Perhaps he is putting too much pressure on himself.
Don't get me wrong, I think Morrison is the best go to guy on the team, and I love watchiing him play. I just don't like it when it looks to be a half-hearted effort.
