Patrick Roy’s Québec Remparts will be at the CCC tomorrow night in their 1st and only regular season visit this season. The Remps are in Moncton tonight, while the Rocket have been off since last Friday. Some Rempart players to keep an eye on are: Kelsey Tessier Angelo Esposito Mikhail Stefanovich Félix Petit Maxime Lacroix Maxime Sauvé and former PEI Rocket Pierre Bergeron. This game is a huge one for the Rocket......as they take on the powerful Halifax Mooseheads Saturday night in Hali. Even though this season is only 7 games in for this Rocket team, this game is a must win IMO. Bergeron is out 3-4 weeks.

Of note I had an interesting discussion with someone from work today when I asked if they were going to tonight's game. And he said that he was going to wait for Jean to be fired before he went to another game.
That comment got me thinking that the expectation is certainly out there and spreading that Jean will get fired at some point and I am wondering if a lot of other casual fans might be planning on doing the same and waiting for a coaching change before coming back to another game.
NOw I really want to support the team but a tiny crowd and another poor home effort by the Rocket would ikely be the final nail in Jean's coffin.
I have a feeling that Savard is quietly working to line up a new coach but since I don't know for sure as horrible as it sounds I am kind of hoping maybe sitting through one more poor home effort in front of a small crowd might be worth it if it forces Savard to fire Jean and turn things around now rather than waiting. My biggest worry right now is the guys start playing a little better which is enough for Savard to justify waiting another month or 2 before making a change.

The crowd wont be huge tonight but the fact its the only home game in a span of a month and it's the only visit of Patty Roy and Espo all year will keep the crowd from getting to abysmal level

Looking out office widow. Beautiful day. Two options. Go to Rocket game or cut the grass Hmmmmmmmm. Gotta pick the Rocket --- have to support the boys when they need it the most. Re Hockey fan comment : " My biggest worry right now is the guys start playing a little better which is enough for Savard to justify waiting another month or 2 before making a change." Wouldn't it be a terible thing if the guys started to win? HELLO Who cares who coaching if the boys are winning. If Jean and the boys can turn this thing around and become contenders like thery should be --- we will all fall in love with Jean and the boys again and pat Savard on the back for not kicking Jeans ass to the curb.

So, any predictions for this big game tonight?
Very important game for the Rocket....and more importantly for coach Jean IMO.
Remps have a good core for FWs, but as was mentioned above, their D is inexperienced.
Should be a real good game.
Oh yea..........Rocket win!

Hey Wingman.
We have been waiting for over 2 years for Jean to turn it around and he hasn't even come close, why would he all of a sudden do it now?
All we can hope for is for the old saying to come true. " Good things come to those who wait"
I know we have been patient with the organization up until this year. Hopefully the turn around will happen soon, rather than later.

I think you completely missed my point. I support the PLAYERS and want to see the team do well. But I think it has become abundantly clear that Jean is not the right coach for this team. And my concern is that a win or two right now would only ease the pressure on Savard and allow him to delay firing Jean. Where IMO Jean is the root of this team's problems and things would likely turn around with a new coach. So I would gladly sit though some short term pain if it meant a new coach and a better outlook on the season.

Such an entertaining game. If you look at it completely unbiasedly, without regard to lack of ice time for certain players, mistakes by certain players, mistakes by our coach, etc. it was one of the most entertaining games I've seen in a while.
I hope it was as huge of a pick me up for the team as it was for me.

It was an entertaining game and players did show up to play. But lucky also, they blew 2 goal leads three times before the third period. Jean still didn't use his bench well as Paynter hardly played and Locke hardly played after the first period. When the Rocket were forechecking they were scoring goals and created scoring chances but once again they sat back with the lead and allowed the Remparts back in the game. It was an entertaining game to watch and players put a better effort in, but still the same old song from Jean.
