What about giving this kid (if he's even still with the team) a shot on the top line? Afterall he played well in camp and it seems rather silly to have him in a scoring role in August, make the team, then become a 4th line/healthy scratch a week into the season... certainly he's not a viable longterm solution but it doesn't hurt to give him a try... does it??

Seeing as Jean tried everyone else on the top line, I don't see how giving Schmidt a chance could do any damage.
Though, I dont expect to see Schmidt on this team for to much longer.

I agree that he has tried everyone on the top line but he has only tried them for a few shifts. Hard to see if anyone clicks that way.

Not sure what the right line combinations would be due to all the juggling....but.....I really liked Kana and Latal on the same line. I hope they get paired.

Right now he is recovering from the major flu bug and has not been on the ice since monday. today was his first off ice work-out since then.

I agree....give him a couple of games up front....Cliche just looks a little lost up there. Schmidt has the size that Cliche does and maybe a little more upside.
I'd say the 3-gamer comeing up on the road would be a time to test that out.
