Darcy coming back is an upgrade over Legare. The way the coach has historically rolled the lines he uses 2 lines the majority of the time. That would mean Legare would be the one to go. Now for Legare you will probably wind up getting a 2nd round pick I would guess. If you are deciding to go for it this year you need to shore up your goalie situation and your defense situation. Leveille and Deschamps are capable of being 4th and 5th defenseman on a championship run. If you have Macintyre at 3 you will need to get two defenseman. Lalonde and Bell in my opinion are both top two defenseman but not this year. They can not sit on the bench or be your 6 and your 7 because that will not help for next year and truth be told thier agents would have a say in that I am sure. The two of them plus Dubois and picks will be what it will cost to get two 18-20 year olds as your one and two plus a goalie to bring you far in the playoffs. If he decides to do that great it will be fun to watch. Whatever he does I suspect he had a plan A and B and what if Darcy came back or Hache. He has said all along that next year is his go for it year. I expect him to remain on that path and perhaps get a goalie and one defenseman and see how the first half turns out. i saw a lot of points about planning now for the trade period and for sure all gm are talking and putting feelers out. There are also a lot of last minute deals that happen. The majority I suspect. Just my opinion.

Now folks, to get off the subject of who is right and who is wrong, let me throw out a trade scenario for you to chew on. Its only early yet and we have no way of knowing who is buying or selling, so how about Gabriel Paquin-Boudreau, Alexander Ranger and Carl Tremblay from Chicoutimie for a combination of draft picks/prospects. All three are 19, have had long playoff runs with Baie-Comeau, one a leftwinger, one a right winger and one a right handed shutdown defenceman and all three will probably be back next year. Just for discussions sake please, lets not get anybodys shorts in a knot.Thoughts please. Just one thing. Carl Tremblay has only played for Chicoutimie. He was actually drafted by Halifax and then traded to Chicoutimie in the Hardie trade. He didn't play in the league as a 16yo so he missed Chicoutimies long play off run. Just had to throw that out there.

Chicoutimi traded away players last year to build for this one so likely not to be selling. Gatineau has injuries but are still doing well another off the list of sellers. Some teams have sold to rebuild already and players have been taken from VD and BLB, sellers.
Bathurst usually shuffles rather than sell or buy. A couple mid pack teams will be on the fence for awhile but demand will be high, cup, and no clear favorite. LOTS of teams holding own against teams favored to go for it. SJ you would think rebuild but doing well with a goalie that can steal a series with a solid team defense. The GM Young usually does well with turning FA into cash at XMAS as he did in Moncton.
Saw some of these teams mentioned in player trade but many are not 2 yr teams like CB.

skimming thru rosters there is a real shortage of quality 95 born dmen in the league .... let alone likely to be available in trade.... you may have to go the route of dropping Brassard at some point and adding a 94 born D to help for this year and reevaluate next year this summer

I figured he'd struggle for maybe 3-5 games, then get putting up points at like a 1.5 PPG rate....but it still has not happened.

What a shame for darcy to come back to junior with his head up his ass; what was he expecting,80 percent of kids taken in the first two rounds get sent back to junior. He was a late round pick as a 20 year old and by looking at Tampa's prospects, he is listed 24th of 25 prospects. Sounds like he got some bad advise from his agent(if he has one), even Dumont allowed him to miss training camp and was quoted on a number of occasions as indicating that Darcy would not be back. Looks like this kid was not ready for the reality or possibility of a return to junior. Now the question remains, does he not want to be back in junior anywhere or just not in Cape Breton. Many rumours out there since as far back as last year that he hates Dumont.Either way, what a way to throw your aspirations away. I'M sure that Tampa must be disappointed

I remember a story of two players that went like this player one did not make the NHL but he had all the talent etc to make it became a job. Player two did not come close to player one in talent or much else however number two was at the rink early for every practice, game anything related to hockey and got better every practice every game he made the NHL at the end. Seems like Darcy got lost somewhere or just stopped having fun playing.

It's interesting that you mention having fun while playing hockey. Recent newspaper articles on Adam Bateman and Mitchell Dempsey, 2 former OHL first round draft picks that were waived through that league, both mentioned how much they loved the Maritimes and how they were having fun again. As the only two 19 year-olds playing regularly in Saint John, they have been very good additions to the Sea Dogs.
I hope Cameron Darcy can get back to having fun again and then get to the next level after a change of scenery. It's just unfortunate that he couldn't seem to do it in Cape Breton.

Your classic example of ceiling expectations.
Darcy had himself stuck on the shit rope.
You see, the shit acts like grease. The harder you try to climb up, the tighter you try to hold on, the faster you slide down the rope , right to no NHL contract.

I heard rumour regarding C Darcy : trade to Sherbrooke for a pick maybe a 4 th round pick ....well what's going on with Dumont ..... Légaré and Darcy was supposed to be two importants parts of the team this year ... and he trade both for only picks .

Not trying to defend Dumont in any way, but with the way Darcy has played this year, what could we expect to get for him.

Well, Darcy was supposed to be an upgrade on Legare, even though he was playing great. Our hands were tied then, as well....excess 20 y/o we had to get off our roster. Worse position now with Darcy - his status has dropped and we have to get him off our roster given our acquisition of Hinds.

Just throwing this out there...wouldn't it be better to send Darcy home for a week, then give him a few games to see if he can get going rather than only getting a 4th for him. We're talking about a guy that had 82 points last year and led your team in scoring. Hinds is a decent player, but at best he's a low end 2nd liner.
