Well we could surely use Legare ... if you don't mind dealing within the division... with the news Johnston won't play for at least a month... and the fact Cobbold has been very mediocre... we certainly have room for an extra 20

The problem with keeping Legare is would he be happy with a third line role? My gut tells me that Legare gets traded to a Quebec team but I am not the one making the decision. Will the top 6 of Farrell, Darcy, Svechnikov, Lazerev, Bishop and Pelletier be the best Eagles top 6 of all time? Legare is a better offensive player than Bishop. If anybody belongs on the 3rd line in that group it would be Bishop. I disagree with this. Legare is 2 years older and doesn't have the same complete game Bishop brings. Bishop has been dominant since coming back. Only way Bishop gets pushed out of the top 6 is by a more polished forward being brought in. Legare should be point per game, but I think Bishop will be closer to 1.5 barring injury.

hmm thought you folks said he wasn't likely coming back this news doesn't surprise me at all does make for a tough call... if you had a solid goaltending option it would be quite a bit easier I believed that he being drafted was good for us as it limited his chances to 1 organization rather then being able to pick the better opportunity as a UFA.

I would not have been surprised either way and always thought it was 50/50 that he was coming back. Obviously, it is 100% now

I heard through the grape vine that Legarè is returning to Quebec to complete school courses he needs for university next year. Not sure how accurate that info is however.

You might see legare go now, brassard at Xmas , a 19 year old goalie in, a top 2 d, and a top notch 20. Wishing for the best

Fucale and Murphy to CB at xmas . Lol probably doesn't happen, but in all seriousness, if you look at what CB needs, and the assets they have to deal, it does kinda makes sense.

That news is great.
We have been discussing the hypothetical for quite sometime. Feels nice to discuss now that the hypothetical is now fact.
Safe for everyone to assume that Legare gets flipped for a pick.
For those saying Brassard is nothing special.
I agree adding in his choke in the playoffs last year and iffy play this year but let us not forget that CB's Defence has been a little hot and cold.

Interesting dilemma, choices to be made. Personally, I would like to see Brassard go but it might be a problem to move a 20 year old goalie at this point of the season. Realistically, I think Legare wil be the one moved, hearing from a very reliable source that he has already been told that if Darcy came back, he would be the one that is moved. I like Legare, but I think Darcy will be an upgrade. Hope he is in the right frame of mind, sound like he still has something to prove to the Tampa organization. As far as the Eagles looking for Fucale and Murphy at Christmas, I don't see that happening. Cam Russell will probably want an arm and leg for Fucale and I don't see him being back in junior next year, I dont't think Dumont will pay a premium price for a 3 month rental.

I brought that deal up just to mess around a few weeks ago.
Those two players would fit well in a run but the cost will be way too much unless nobody is willing to overpay.
Besides , I doubt either team will be willing to help each other out that much being in the same division.

Wonder what the lines look like, one of Farrell/Bishop are gonna have to move to the wing I assume.
Svechnikov - Darcy - Pelletier Farrell - Bishop - Lazarev
I only keep Bishop at C instead of Farrell because I think Farrell transitions to the wing easier.

You guys just got a player who is a top 5 scorer in the league for free. Your in a very weak division. You have a very strong team already. Knowing all that plus it's a Q Mem Cup year you make trades like that. The cost isn't going to be as bad as you would think. You have 2 1st rounders this year so it would be those plus Dubois and O'Leary. That could really get it done. Maybe another player like Corbeil too. But That for a ring is worth it. Plus if your giving up Brassard we can throw in Hardie and you that would put your team over the top for sure.

We won't even be really sacrificing, we could trade 3-4 1st round picks this year and still not even be in bad shape.
