That story actually makes no sense.
He seems to be wagging his finger at the Mooseheads but doesn't really explain why, aside from that they 'should have known better'.

Yes ... his attitude is "we are the media ... why would you keep anything from us". The answer to that question is "because you are the media".

The way I read is it the Mooseheads were hoping to keep the entire thing under wraps and hope it just appeared in a little "in the courts" blurb in the paper.

Is he saying they "Should have known better" than to try to hide it because it would eventually get out? Just because it did get uncovered by the crack reporting team that is the Halifax Metro, that doesn't mean the Mooseheads should have made a press release about it as soon as it happened.

For those that may have not seen it, Trevor Stienburg gives his thoughts on the situation.

Is it the best thing to just wash your hands of that friend? I agree with Steinburg... I think the first thing the team should do is try and help him, if they believe in him as a person. He seemed like calm, likable guy on and off the ice and teammates seemed to like him. He may have made a mistake, and a serious one, but we have no idea what kind of regret he has and what kind of conversations he has had with his family and Cam/Dom. I am sure the rules are laid out very clearly - another incident like this and he likely loses his spot. But I think its important to try and help first and foremost if the player is truly willing to change things in his life.

The Metro News continues to update us on this. Seems like the Herald was a reluctant participant when the news first broke and don't appear to have any interest in this story now. The Herald fears the Mooseheads because it is a big source of ad revenue and Web traffic for them.

Well this makes me feel pretty angry... or... mad?... or ready to boycott the moose? or the herald?... umm. What are we supposed to be feeling, according to you? The story already broke weeks ago and people shared their opinions then.

The story already broke weeks ago and people shared their opinions then. I don't know what the papers have/have not reported on it over the last few weeks as i'm a casual reader and don't read them all daily. But I will say that if 1 paper went out of its way to try and avoid reporting on a drug charge because of who is involved then as a reader and fan of the team I would be pretty upset that it's not reported on as that may change my view of supporting the team if I believe they're trying to lessen the impact of a 20yr old being charged with possession of a drug when that same player could have a 16yr old teammates who are told to look up to the leaders in their dressing room. I only say that as I don't recall reading anything about a cocaine charge weeks ago. Just that it was a DUI involving potentially open liquor. I found that added wrinkle very surprising, but again, I don't live in Halifax and perhaps that had always been reported on.
