Chris Doyle??? Well would it really be that big of a loss if we did I dont really think so, in fact depending on who we got it might make us quite better im not saying were going to get a 60+ goal scorer for him but what if we got a play maker who could put 25+ in the net, Sure we might miss his Shot on the PP but when is it ever near the net?? one thing we wont miss is those no look/ behind the back passes that lead to a turnover and a goal from the other team, or the fact he mostly elects to shoot rather then pass on an oddman rush? I might get heat for this but If he wasnt a Islander, would we really want him that bad? He is a good player and im sure he might get better but on this team i just dont think he fits
Your thoughts? and Who would u rather see go to Shake up this team??

Yes he does make mistakes, but he's still young and has incredible potential. I think we'd be better off getting someone who knows how to coach to mold our young talent.

Lets cut chris some slack here. This is his draft year and if he can prove to the scouts that he and only he alone can carry the rocket with his plus 100 mile an hour shot . He wouldn't pass the puck to save his life just blast away and miss the net typical for a future draft prospect. out of his 6 assists 3/4 came from rebounds off the back baords.
jean should send him and a few other players to panther basketball camp at least they will show them how to pass

I felt that even though Chris is not playing his optimal game....that he was much better this past weekend than the weekend before. He got his nose dirty, played with a bit of a chip, which was the first time I saw that this weekend. Depsite the team record there are things to be positive about. Doyle is bringing his game up a notch, Morrison is playing excellent (except on the D on PP...lol), Walker is playing very well and proving to be a leader. MacLean has been getting better and better, Lessard is begining to look like his old self, Deighan has been a nice surprise making the squad and playing excellent, Clow is getting better and better in a hurry, and last game Lafleur seemed to get it together as the game progressed....even though it was too late for that game.
We will have a much better Defense by Christmas, I am confident in that. Clow and Deighan are proving themselves ready for regular play and even if we don't trade Swit, I see them taking over more ice time than him...but I still think we will see someone new arriving at the trading period on the point.
Up front I am not worried about most of our forwards. Two really good additions through trade would make all the difference in the world...and lets remember, we only have to make the playoffs. After that its a whole new season and anything can happen

This is a very interesting post, I think all agree that we need one more piece upfront and one in the back, the question is who and/or what, are we willing to give up. There are many scenarios to think about, middle players for middle players but does that really improve the situation? Just throwing this out there, like I think Justin was doing, forget about everyone else there are really only two players on this team that all other teams would listen too, you got it, Southorn or Doyle. What would you get for either one? I'm not knocking any other player but imagine the trade possibilities, I bet Serge would be on the phone 24/7. I don't think either player will be moved because a trade like this would put this board into another dimension, just throwing it out there, to lighten the load and to have some fun. What do you think?

Neither Southorn or Doyle are going anywhere. Nuff said.

Only players I can see the Rocket consider parting with are Cliche, LaChaine, McKinley, Desroches, Schmidt, Locke, Malouin, Clow, Deighan, Gelinas, Swit. I do think that the 2 most probable are Schmidt and Cliche, and on D, Malouin or Clow. I seriously doubt they will deal Swit.....just a gut feeling

the problem is not with 17 years old players it is that you need every player to play as A TEAM , what happen alot of your player think NHL draft i have to do alot for my draft year i have to prove my self and they get all about them self and forget that they need to play with the team , see i maybe wrong but individual plays everytime his not the way to go .

Doyle is providing solid offense for the team even though he still hasn;t peaked yet. It would be giving away an impact player to get an impact player. Doyle will have 70+ points this year at 17. Theres no way he should be considered for a trade.
