If you want to look at one of the reasons this team has been struggling so much just look at the first 5:00 mins of each game.
So far 12 games into the season the Rocket only scored first 3 times.
And in those other 9 games the opposing team scored in the first 5:00 8 times.
The Rocket's record when they score first 2 - 1.
The boys need to come out a lot better in the first half of the first period.

Would that trend be considered a fluke or is there a possibility the team is not prepared to play every single night? If so whose fault is that? Discuss

If only there was someone responsible for choosing line combinations and ensuring that the team is ready to play right from the opening faceoff. This could be a sign that maybe he (or she) might not be doing their job very well.

Whose job is it to make sure the boys are ready to play?? NO question -- It is Jeans job but the boys also have to learn a pre game routine to get themselves ready. It could be quiet time with an ipod or getting to the dressing room early and cranking the tunes with the other guys. Coach needs to find out what works for each player and make arrangements to let it happen.

The Rocket have always been slow starters in games even going back to 2 seasons ago. Without looking back at the stats, it wasn't uncommon even back then for the Rocket to get themselves in a hole early with a quick goal or 2 by the opposing team. I remember posting on here last year how the Rocket never come out to start a game setting the tempo by throwing big hits or by controlling the play. And really who can remember the last time that happened, even going back to previous seasons. For once it would be nice to have them come out flying, throwing their bodies around and setting the pace of the game. It seems like the only tactic Jean uses, or knows how use, to set the tone of the game is by sending someone out to drop the gloves. Nothing wrong with a good tilt every once in awhile to send a message or set the tone, but they need to do it other ways also.

I would also like to see the stat of how many penalties are taken in the first five minutes leading to goals.

Maybe they should have their 5 worst players in the starting lineup and start a line brawl
