Keep him until after the trade period. If no progress they can find a coach or the assistant takes over. If he wants to stay as GM fine, if not you have up until draft to get a GM or both. Cant imagine a contract is so bad you would let someone coach the franchise down the tubes. In the end the coach has to motivate and takes the fall when he cant. You are right with the money and I should have been more clear. They can afford it but they will be putting it off as long as possible. Guaranteed. Just look at the history. Vincent never got fired after a few failed playoff attempts. 04 specifically. Durocher was not fired at all even though he was the reason the team went to hell with his trading period spending sphere. They waited for his contract. Roux & Choules were the only two that were fired within a reasonable amount of time and even so show that this team is thinking of $ . Not blaming them either I would as well.( Them allowing Roux to stay at home alludes to this plus / promotions from within)

So is Cape Breton actually going for it this year? Lots of rumors of a major deal with Baie Comeau. I was reading some of that too, and I hope not at the price being thrown around (1st, Dubois, Bell, Brassard I think) for (Cadorette, Gregoire) maybe if we weren't 16th in the league I wouldn't mind sending Dubois in a big trade like that... Subtract one of Dubois or Bell and I would at least consider that deal.

I for one would definitely not consider trading Dubois. He is only 16 and from what I have seen he can play as a top six forward this year. He is going to be a force in this league. As far as Pelletier is concerned, his game has certainly fallen off. I really like his game and he should easily be a top 6 forward on this team. His play seemed to fall off badly after Dumont publicly criticized his play in the local paper. He could be one of those that we hear about who is discontented. Also hearing that Darcy is very frustrated with who he is playing with. Specifically watched that last game and he played with Beaudin, a 16 year old forward filling a hole at forward, and Martineau, a 17 year old rookie who right now is a third liner at best.IMO, your top point getter from last year should be in the top six if for no other reason than to give him someone to play with to get him going. Just my humble opinion.
