Bell was branded as a PP guy his whole career. Those kind of d men typically don't think they have to back check. (letang, subban, etc.) I am glad he went, because I was the guy that didn't like beaudry.

For a trade that got a lot of heat from us, it seems to be working out.
Pelletier has 9 points in 17 games with the Huskies and a whopping -11
Meanwhile Belanger has been one of our best players in the second half, shutting the door and giving us a chance to win. Not to mention we got a 3rd round pick too. Pelletier is still only 18, but right now i'd call us the winners so far.

I have to agree with you, Belanger helped us while Sullivan was out. Hoping his Concussion is minor. Also on a unrelated topic, Bell has sat a few games for St.John and I did not notice him the other night

My only gripe with the Pelletier trade was that I thought they could get a little more (especially when you look at the Pepin trade). I didn't mind that they traded him because he was playing like ass. Same goes for Darcy although I didn't really care about that return because he was 20.

After the last 3 playoff games here i've gotten really excited about next year. As i bet some of people are. I would like to add one of Paquin-Boudreau, Joly or Anthony Beauregard for 20's and one or two of Aube-Kubel, Blais And Ratelle.
Maybe we can work out a big deal with Val d'Or. Something like we send our 4th overall pick, a 2nd, 3rd and a prospect like david caza for Beauregard and Aube-Kubel

Cape Breton and the Islanders are gonna be for real next year. The Sea Dogs may be better than both of them .

Aube-Kubel would probably cost in that price range on his own. With progression is likely a 90-100 point scorer. They aren't cheap and he likely returns so alone he may be in the 2 1sts range or a 1st and a top prospect. But why would Val-d'Or make that trade anyway? They will be decent. They would likely add rather than subtract.

Trying to go get the absolute best players on paper is the last thing this team needs. Upgrading the 3rd pairing on D and dressing 3 20's that are upper tier in talent and character while playing a defensive style will go farther then throwing a bunch of 80 point forwards out there. You're not winning a championship in this league by trying to win every game 8-5.

I think the Eagles have one kick at this in 2015/16 - I think its with Svetchnikov on the team. Need to be set in goal and start fast. I thought CB was ahead of the Islanders coming into this year but its a draw now with Charlottetown set for two good years. I have no idea on the Dogs - they have great young talent - not sure they can compete with Char and CB though.

Goaltending and depth is what we need. The fact we've spent what we have on 3 goalies for this year and STILL don't necessarily have one is why i'm much less excited then I was 8 or 9 months ago. One of our biggest issues now is 20's like Hinds and Anderson burning out and our goaltending being average while Darcy puts up a ton of points and Brassard moves on to round 2. Something still isn't right here.

The team has shot blanks there and they know they need to go all in to fix it or waste this great chance.
