A turning point is what we may have seen last night at the CCC, while giving up 2 goals in the first few minutes of the game Gelinas goes out and in comes Lafleur... Then Rocket battle from from 2 goals down to take the lead 3-2 and dispite a goal in the last minute of the 3rd they still had their Confidence, OT solved nothing and neither Did the 1st 2 shooters Then up steps Mario Kempe and pulls out the old Datsyuk and Almost begins Celebrating his goal as Lafleur Goes to the other side as Kemps pulls the puck along with him and takes the shot, but out of nowheres like a Theif in the night Lafleur Robs Kempe, With The best save of the year by far, Brought some of the Crowd to its Feet not all of em but its the ccc lol but next 2 shooters score and up steps Latal who Goes forehand backhand and wins the game for The Rocket.
The Game itself should be a turning point for them why well after a horrible start we get back into it and Win it and As for Lafleur when times are bad we go back to old faithful and he comes in and almost picks up the Shut out in his shortened game but it should get his head back in the game and well if that didnt mabye that average save he made will!!!

The game may have been the confidence boost Lafleur needed but as for a turning point for the team I'm not so sure.
We started flat again, down two zip after 6 minutes. We went scoreless in the third. We were playing the Fog Devils, who although they are ahead of us in the standings they are struggling this year. For me to have considered this to be a turning point for the team I would have had to have seen them control the play more, not simply eek out a shoot out win. As nice as it is to put the 2 points up, we're not out of the woods yet.

I don't think the Rocket are nowhere's near out of the woods. Have to get a much better effort, much more consistency from everybody (coaches included), have a better game plan and play with intensity the whole 60 minutes instead of just one period before they they are able to reach any kind of turning point. A goalie can make a big save or a player can score a great goal, they still need to get their shit together if they want to accomplish anything.

Is it me, or did anyone else read the title of this thread and thought they had accidentally stumbled onto the Bathurst board? ;D

It was nice to get the win last night but it was not a turning point IMO. I think it was perhaps a boost to their team esteem to get the win but IMO they need to come out and play from the time the 1st puck is dropped until the last buzzer goes.

With the win tonight, the Rocket jump ahead of Moncton and Bathurst in the standings.
Moncton and Bathurst are in the bottom of the division with 12pts each.
7 straight losses now for Bathurst! ;D ;D

let's see what kind of showing we put in Sunday and Wednesday to get a measure on how we're doing. Tonight was another nice win and should help build confidence.

Nice win - great job boys! Glad the team came out and played...too bad some of the boys didn't see much ice time (ie. Paynter).

What are you talking about? Paynter got 3 shifts... that's triple his normal icetime (sarcasm meter on full blast)

When is Jean going to realize that in order to develop in this league a player has to see ICE TIME. It is a real shame what he is doing to some of these kids. I know people will say they have to wait their turn but what about this coon come kid, in the paper Jean states that "He won't be sitting". Where does that leave the other guys that have been with the team from the start? Start playing 4 lines Jean, give these kids an opportunity to show what they can do. Our top 2 lines are going to get burned out or injured and then we will have a HUGE problem to deal with.

The recent coaching change is a positive for now and for the future of this team.
Whether Guy is with this team for the long haul or not........this move just helped this franchise turn the corner, and hopefully not look back.
Finally, a bright light for Rocket fans.
