It took a long time for you to do it...But Congrats Serge on FINALLY getting rid of Jean.' Fans are gonna be happy about this and I think that you'll see a good crowd on Wednesday to see this new Coach Guy Chouinard.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_ChouinardFinally is seems serge has....listened to the fans and everyone else and did the right thing...and early enough on that the boys should be able to make a decent go of the season.....up to them now....

Very good choice. This guy is a good coach and he leads in just about every category in the Q.

Very good choice. This guy is a good coach and he leads in just about every category in the Q. He was a good Coach ... but the game has changed since he last coached in the Q ... and there have been several Coaching jobs in the Q get filled without Chouinard. There is a reason for that. Don't get your hopes up too high just yet ... although I'm sure he'll be better than Jean.

The question is now that we have someone coming in to replace Jean, how long do we give that person before the knives come out. Not trying to be snotty, just want to establish a warming up period where we see what the new guy brings to the table.
Quite possibly even though we were getting some wins it was how the games were won that might have sunk the last nail in.
What happens to Corrado? Is he retained or does the new guy bring in someone with him?

Actually Steve if you read the wikipedia article you would see that the last 4 yrs he has been coaching minor pro in Quebec. Yes things have changed but it isn't like he was sitting around home getting passed over for coaching jobs like you suggest. I'm not suggesting that he is the end all of coaching but I am estatic that the Rocket added a veteran coach with success. Which at the very least should be a substantial improvement over Jean.

I understand to move to try Yannick a few years ago. It would've been nice to get a young coach come in and start a successful career with the team. But the move simply didn't work and I am ecstatic that the move was made now instead of waiting till later in the season.
We were going nowhere with Yannick. This gives the team and the fans a renewed optimism for the rest of the season. Good time for the move.

He was a good Coach ... but the game has changed since he last coached in the Q All that experience and success and he can't adjust? Hardly. Most everyone else has learned to adjust. He will too if he hasn't already. How many times has Scotty Bowman left the game. There are many possible reasons. Ability is not not likely one of them. Got any links for this announcement?

If this guy comes in and the team continues to come out flat, fall behind early every game, show little life, play the hell out of 10 guys and have 7 rotting on the bench, refuses to change strategies in game when things aren't working, walks around behind the bench like an emotionless robot i'd say it will take about 4 games.. thankfully i don't think any of that will happen It's obvious Jean was not able to coach this team nor was this team willing to play for him This is a wonderful move.... no rain in Rocketville today

I know where he has been Coaching ... and even though you add the tag "semi-pro" that doesn't make it a high level of hockey. Its a goon league ... closer to UFC than hockey ... an old style of play where enforcers were the norm ... same as when he coached the Remps but worse. Its a sideshow league that plays on the idea that the fans will come out for the fights ... which is correct . I would equate it to coaching roller hockey. I'm not saying Chouinard is a bad coach ... he is easily better than Jean ... I just don't think you should all be getting too excited about this guy as being some sort of saviour.
