yes, what a game...things have gone from bad to worse.. oh well we are away for the next three games hopefully this will get things back on track. a little male bonding...lol
as far as tonight, we blew it plain and simple. we played half the game on the power play. there is no one that complain about refs tonight, they were on our side for sure.
for the life of me i dont get it having a power play of cliche, mckinley and lachine...must know something i dont know. and putting latal on d on the power...sorry that is absolutely foolish. latal has not one bit of d qualities.
lots of shots taken by us tonight(power plays kinda help there) but quality scoring chances were few.
morrision IMO seems not to be all there. his intensity has droppped, is there a problem with him. does he want out?
our defense is missing grags big time . say what you will about grags, he could control the puck and carry it out. we miss him for that.
highlight of the night, second period intermission and all the great costumes. loved that table setting! lol.
anyways, it can only get better....

Here's some dicussion....sloppy, uninspired, players were totally out of sync with each other, puck all over the place. Started off decently with a Gallant-Graham bout and it went south from there. Rocket never, never EVER got things going. Full marks the to Foggies for playing solid, defensive hockey which as we all know from Hockey 101....good defence leads to offence. And this after being on the road for what was it...12 days? Rocket should have come out flying knowing they were playing team at the tailend of long roadtrip, but it never happened. Foggies goaltender made the saves when he had to and a LOT of missed sticks by the Rocket kept the puck out of the net. Am I going to blame Guy....NOPE. Not going to hang a man who so far has had only 2 practices and 2 games with these guys. Hell he's still trying to figure out where players fit in as evidenced tonight when he played all four lines again in different situations and even had Cliche out on the PP. Until Guy gets a better read on these guys the Rocket are pretty much going to have to win a few by themselves. I sense a LOOOOOONG bus ride to Halifax tomorrow and quite possibly a long ride home. Good thing the team isn't back home until Nov. 9....maybe they'll have things figured out by then. Reg....OUT!

WTF was that??? Did anyone check for pulses in the Rocket dressing room, there wasn't much sign of life on the ice. They did get alot of shots on net, but there was alot of uninspired play also. Seemed like too much individual play at times where players were trying to do it all themselves. I know it's going to take a few games to get used to systems and such, but you don't need to get used to a system to play with intensity and play with enthusiasm. Poor effort tonight.

You guys looked like a team with no chemistry... like a pre-season squad. Maybe some of it has to do with the fact they are mixed up with old coaching/new coaching too. But it looks like an endless amount of individual efforts. PP passing was nice at times, but they always made 1 too many passes... they would make three passes and a guy woudl receive it a great spot to shoot, then pass it right back like a set play. They werent recognizing their chances.
Alot of poor decisions on good chances. Latal flew up the wing on a give and go, had tons of room to drive the net or at least get closer, and he half-slapped it from inside the blueline. Other times you guys wheeled in 3 on 2-ish, and tried to make low % passes to a guy covered.
I thought you had the Devils on their heels in the second half, but no real "team" pressure, not alot of sustained control. They just made the most of their chances, some nice in close passing.
StJ's looked like a team all on the same page for the most part, and considering theyve had the same coach for years, it makes sense. While PEI kept coming at them (individually) they didnt panic on defense and often shut down any potential scoring plays.

game was terrible for the most part.....
i think its going to take a while for the "jean factor" to leave the mindset of the rocket players and i freakin hope its soon tho.....
Guy needs some time with the squad to put his "name" on the team, not gonna throw daggers at him yet, those are deserved for the boys on the ice tonight...one of the most boring games i have seen in a while and well, gotta give props to the devils goalie, he stopped all, most not huge threats but the score was against us. I was not surprised they lost, i think it'll take some games for Guy to get the bench working under his training, but.....still....
all of a sudden very happy i am not going to halifax tomorrow...thank god for "just for laughs"

Some games like this are expected IMO, with the hiring of a new coach.
Getting into a new system takes some time, and does have an effect on the players.
The Rocket outshot the Foggies bad tonight, and Timo made some decent saves.
Im not really that worried about the way they played tonight.....wish they would have won, yes, but as mentioned it takes time to get the whole team into the new system
As Reggie said, thankfully the next few game are on the road....

I agree that a coaching change can have an effect on players and takes time to get adjusted to new systems, but I don't think it's a reason for uninspired play or poor efforts. I have no problem with a team losing because they are not yet used to the new coach or his systems but it doesn't mean that don't show up for the games either. I think it will get better with time, but only if the players buy into and put the effort and intensity into it.

i also think they sucked tonight, but i thought timo was fantastic. stopped many point blank shots, no rebounds. we out chanced them by a large margin.

It's a road game tomorrow, but not a long trip. The real bonding with Chouinard and the team will be the double in Lewiston. Leave the day before, fairly lengthy drive to get there, holed up for 2 days, no distractions (family, girlfriends, etc.)...just the team and hockey games.
Reg...out...again.

Gee guys what happened to the 6-2 or the 7-3 or the 5-1 game you were going to bring to the Devils I try not to gloat but it feels good to win when people underestimate you so much. Also it looks good on PEI, well actually I shouldn't say that it looks good on Latal after blowing that kiss last game.

Also, I thought the team played hard right till the final buzzer. It just seemed like one of those nights where they didn't get the bounces, but I was pleased with the effort. Even down 3-0, they were trying hard in the final minute. Despite being 0-2 under Guy, I think there are a lot of positives in the first two games and the hockey effort has been better than it ever was under Yanick.

It doesn't look like there was a "jean factor" as much as there is an "Unspired players factor." Ok, now lets stop blaming management and coaches and lets look at the real problem, THE PLAYERS. FIRE THE PLAYERS!
