Brassard is good as gone. Cant see any possible way this team keeps a 20 yr old goalie and Resop as backup. Dona likely stays until Xmas. Cant see Halifax selling cheap at draft and/or a team paying enough that soon after injury. I don't know how you can say Brassard is as good as gone. He's still the better of the 2 and he's one of the better 20's we will have back next year. I partially think it might be better to maybe trade Resop at the draft and see what we might get for him. Then with one of our 3 picks I. The first 2 rounds grab a 16yo to back up Brassard. Some teams like Moncton, SJ and maybe Shawingian could use a new goalie and an 18yo one would fit into their game plans. As for Donaghey you have to hold on to him till at lest Christmas time. His value would be pretty low right now being injured for 5 months and all. Him being a 19yo right handed shooting defencemen, his demand will be at it's highest then. That's usually at the top of teams that go for it's wish list. When you come up with trade scenarios you need to consider a lot of things. Wont get into all of them in this case, 20 yr olds for example, but a big one is drafting a player that would have a deal to show up.

Big school money? See I never heard of any of those things. He wasn't exactly a first round guy that teams were dieing to get. He also wasn't even on the US developments radar. So I'm just assuming his deal isn't that comlex. I think he is just happy to be in a high level hockey league. So like I said let's hear what his agreement is with this team.

Is it that out of the realm of possibility that Resop, an American, would have been given a NTC by the Mooseheads to get him to report- FFS Ciampini had one, I don't think it would be totally out of the question that Resop would.

Luca was the 2nd overall pick. Resop like I said before is a player that isn't exactly a Echiel guy that you need to convince to come here. He wasn't on USA development programs radar or anything like that. I'm not saying he doesn't have one just have yet to hear he does. He the type of player that I think wouldn't have one. He just isn't a guy that would have had a bunch of other options.

So by that respons sounds like you have no clue. Did not want to get into it and expand on your fantasy trade but you are truly clueless. You always expect proof from people on a message board because YOU saw nothing. lol List what American was traded after their first year high pick or not, how sought after was Terenzio? Resop was waiting to be picked by the moose and responded right away, Russell even stated he and Marino had connections likely expecting that would make him more comfortable in showing. Do you think Russell just picked Resop from a hat. You suggest keeping a 20 yr old goalie and drafting a high pick goalie in the hopes of having him ready the following year? Yet trade Resop who has proven he can already play in the Q next year, that makes no sense what so ever. Do you think the Moose plans are that short term. What possible reason do they have for keeping a 20 yr old goalie, on a team like the Moose, that actually has trade value.

What possible reason do they have for keeping a 20 yr old goalie, on a team like the Moose, that actually has trade value. To answer your question on Americans traded after their first year what about Camron Askew off the top of my head. You never said they had to be mooseheads. I don't understand what point your trying to make by bringing up Terenzio? You do know the Mooseheads wanted other guys and they all got picked before they had the chance to get them. Terenzio was their last result. The connections between Resop and Marino I never heard that till you said it now. However I do remember the team basically reporting at the draft he was going to report to training camp. That I do agree with that part. Resop has shown he can play but he is still a project. I'm just suggesting the way he is playing might draw some interest to a team that's window fits him better. I don't see him as a franchise type goal. That is just my opinion. Here's the thing you need to ask your self. Why would we bother sending a 2nd round pick back to Quebec for a 19yo defencemen if there isn't some sort of short term plan? My "pipe dream trade" actually works perfectly with this rebuild. You cash in on a player who has more service time so should equal a lager return then a guy who played for 4 different teams all ready in this league. Now all I asked is does Resop have a NTC. That is a yes/ no answer. You have fully avoided it. I'm not say he does or doesn't I'm just trying to get informed. If you don't know for sure just say that. It's easy see I don't know if he has one that's why this all got started.

How does someone saying it on a msg board make it so, thats where you heard of them before, hows that a credible source. I am not stating NTC but would it make a difference if I made it up, I am sure many have/assumed. Terenzio was a 6th round pick and is an example that obviously stayed for reasons other than performance. Resop simply follows a trend that the Moose are cultivating south of the boarder to get more players to report, he was doing well in previous seasons so I doubt only Halifax knew about him. Players want a stable situation when coming to the Q and yes I was talking only about the Moose of course! Goalies are not easy to develop and when you have only one moving forward you dont trade them unless they are certain of a replacement or cashing in like a Fucale. They have younger ones now to bring along so they wont need to force anything at the draft but would have time to develop if they get another. Next year they dont need a franchise goalie. I see a 18,19, and possible 20 yr old goalie that suits the Moose for 3 yrs while they develop/find another. The goalie coach has made comments that they usually dont make on goalies they dont see a future for. Martin is called up for Quebec road trip. He seemed to have good potential along with the wolfpack goalie they signed. I was not commenting on the Dona suggested trade and its not anywhere near the same as the Resop situation.

Would make no sense for the Moose to move Resop but I would say consider any solid deal for Brassard. As a 17 year old rookie Resop fits the Mooseheads current cycle and overall has stepped up since Fucale has left and has had a great last month. In his last 11 games he's had two crap games, one ok game and 8 games somewhere between solid and spectacular (5 of those 8 games he's had a save % of .960 or better). He seems to be finding a bit of consistency which is what he really needs and being that size and 17 I think if the moose get a good offer for Brassard they'll take it and have confidence in Resop at 18.
As far as the rest of the team goes for next year I don't see Ehelers back... you take him out of an exciting but struggling to be mid pack offense and I see the Moose needing help to score. Watt-Falkenham-Shewfelt would make an interesting 3rd line, problem being you probably need two of those guys in the top - without 5/6 guys really having big breakout years, scoring will be tough.
While the team this year seems defined by the top line we are actually probably ranked better in goals against than we are goals for compared to the rest of the league. So while scoring may have some big trouble next year I think they should be quite solid on the backend. Add hopefully a healthy Donaghey and the Moose basically return a full squad and one that they can pretty much keep together for 2 years. At 18 C. Fitzgerald has been a huge find and Nauss and Ford at 16 and 17 look poised to be part of the core on D for the next few years. Not sure how Argento, Hunter and Taillefer will develop or what level of players they'll be but again at 16 and 17 years old it bodes well for the depth over the next few years. Add Marino And the D would pretty much be set for. A few years.
The cycle on forwards just isn't matching up with D and goaltending. Next year the need another solid 17 year old euro forward and need to turn a couple of the older pieces (Meier mainly) into another couple 17/18 year old forwards.

Brassard to Moncton, Halifax gets Booth a possibility?

Brassard to Moncton, Halifax gets Booth a possibility? That was the expectation before the Moncton and Fucale trades went sideways. Still a 2018 pick that could go for something later which is not unusual in futures.

Would that mean Resop could be traded as well and the Mooseheads draft a backup to groom?

I don't think that is going to happen. Booth didn't want to go to Halifax.
