The thing is, Moynihan only has 1 season left and no longer had NCAA available. CB is a muchbetter shot at a title in his final season where as Durandeau has an entire Q career and NCAA options.

Do you think Durandeau would report to CB?? Not trying to say he wouldn't but I see him as the type to be selective. Edit: To elaborate, he is a product of LSL, which has a history of top end talent being very selective in the q with where they will and will not report. I know that Durandeau sites players like Drouin, and current Moose Ford and Fortier as reasons to why he is coming to Halifax, as LSL has had a lot of success in Halifax. Not sure he sees the same in CB, in brutal honesty. Also you would have to think Cam guranteed he wouldn't be traded. I feel bad because it seems CB is getting shit on quite a bit, but I would also wonder if Moynihan would report there was well considering the cirmcumstances that we got him to report to Halifax. I'm not really sure about those circumstances but I was thinking he might have some kinda no-trade deal to keep him with his brother? I could see their family wanting that. lol such a weird situation, one of the predicted/thought of contenders and just getting denied left, right and center.

I don't personally think Moynihan would have an issue playing in CB. He moved from MA to NS already and has spent 2 season in the Q. He likely knows where Halifax stands this upcoming season and where Cb stands as well. You would think he would want to play for the contender as a 20 instead of a team who is in self proclaimed sell mode right now. Brother or not, CB is the better scenario hockey-wise for Moynihan. Then again, the same things could be said about Bowers......

Dubois named an Alternate Captain for the U18 Ivan Hlinka Squad, think he'll have an A this year with the Eagles? So many older guys but he just screams leader to me, future captain for sure.

In my opinion Dumont has his good and bad points as GM, I guess pretty much the same as most. However, dragging this Bowers saga out cannot be in the best interest of anyone involved. We already had a gong show of sorts last year which somewhat led to trading away a pick at Christmas which otherwise may have waited until spring to determine its real value. I think it's fair to say that any good business should plan for tomorrow as well as today. The real return for our other 2 1sts is in this year with LeBlanc and what was Ranger. I think he has to get a balanced return for Bowers. The longer he holds out, the less likely I see that happening. There should be options with Halifax that can accomplish both. At this point I would be happy to see Durandeau and Fortier for Bowers. Then maybe send our 1st and someone such as Declan Smith for Moynihan. I may be wrong, but I can't see Bowers playing for Cape Breton.

I do know that there have been many French Canadian kids who have seemed to fair well in Cape Breton. I would think that for a deal to be made with Halifax, it would require either Durandeau or one of their 2016 1sts. They do not have a lot else that would make sense in a trade on its own. Otherwise I would be trying for Highmore, Tessier and a pick from Saint John. If these teams are not willing to pay this, which is fair compensation, then the Bowers camp might want to think they are not as highly valued in these circles. It's not easy to get top picks like Cape Breton had this year. If they are to use them all on one year assets, well that doesn't make good sense to me.

maybe they should get only second round picks since first one won't report . that kill the ideal of best player available . then Dumont would be no good for sure

Friends family make hockey more enjoyable and if schooling is a future option he would already be setup in Halifax. Gadoury, Hardie and many other 20s in Halifax have stayed for those reasons.

Not that it's anything you guys don't already know, but DAMN Payton Hoyt is good. One of the more impressive shots I've seen from a rookie in a long time.

I think it'll look like: Dubois - Svechnikov - Lazarev Fournier - Bishop - Sorrentino Boucher - Martineau - Hoyt Reingato - Tower - MacSween LeBlanc - Leveille Deschmaps - Gosselin Beaudin-Vance/McIntyre if he shows up Belanger Jessiman Pretty similar to yours, just a couple forward changes, should be interesting. I actually love our defense composition, LeBlanc a steady 2 way guy known for leadership, big hits, steady game.. Leveille puck moving d-man with an accurate point shot, should be over a PPG this year.. Gosselin another puck moving type d-man but I've been impressed by his calm in the defensive end, not afraid to just flip the puck out of trouble, etc.

We have 2 #1 guys in my opinion and a great #3 in Gosselin and what should be a veteran Deschamps starting to get a bit more consistent. Getting that 3rd pairing minutes vs the 3rd/4th lines of the competition should be a priority. Beaudin should only get better with ice time. Any of the top 4 going down for any extended period creates holes we cant fill for a few months.
