Even though he is playing good right now, IMO Lachaine is a candidate. With him being 19 yrs old and playing well at the moment, now might be the time to get something decent in return for him. I think it depends in which direction the Rocket want to go in and what their plans are for next season.
Perhaps Clow could be added also. Not sure what value he would get in a trade, but have to do something with the kid, the way I look at it is either use him or move him. If you (the Rocket) don't like what he brings to the table, then move him to someone who might have a use for him.

Ben Cassavant is by far their best prospect. However.... I see no way they'd want Lafleur whos been inconsistant all year. They have Sniderman. Not much between the two right now, and Sidnerman has much more experience. They want Blanchard.... and have an offer that Victo won't except, because they insist on Cassavant, whom R-N won't part with at this time. Good news for Rouyn, is Victo will almost certainly move him to make room for Poulin, so the price may come down as long as someone else doesn't step up and grab Blanchard (Bathurst maybe). They are higher on Emond and Casavant is currently damaged goods, out for the year with a shoulder seperation. Casavant had 5 points this week end, seems to feel good.

Interesting to see what the Rocket do this trade period although even if they are considering selling the demand might not be there to get adequate value for the players that we might move.
As I posted in the Q discussion forum while every team would love to add a Morrison or Lessard to their team there are only a few teams that look like they would be willing to spend a lot of their future to make a real impact addition.
Looking at the top teams BC and Gatineau are really the only two that need a 3rd 20 yr old forward, maybe RN if they added a 19 yr old goalie. The other teams could always upgrade but since thye already have a contributing 20 yr old they may not be willing to pay a big price for the upgrade. Also there are some other pretty 20's potentially on the market with Pare, Graham, Mardquart, etc. Morrison IMO is the best of the group but that kind of supply with low demand could mean the value to move him isn't worth it.
On defense it is very similar. Teams looking for a highend 19 yr old defenseman could get Paris, Lessard, Legault or Piche. And again the teams that would be willing to pay the price for that type of talent might only be Halifax and RN. Maybe Quebec if they decide to add. I looked around at what I thought PEI could/should get from the potential teams and Gilbert is the only name that jumped out at me and he is expected to be part of the Marchand deal (although I think they would be better off using him to get a Lessard type defenseman).
So it is going to make it really tough for Chouinard to decide which strategy to take this season. I mean if the trade value isn't there and with still half a season left by playoff time this team could progress into the type of team that many of us thought they could be before the season started. And if Chouinard decides to sell I think he needs to move both Lessard & Morrison not just one otherwise it is just not worth it. There is also the consideration that Savard may be pushing to keep this team together and try to get into the 2nd round for some playoff revenue.
Another item to consider is a rumour I heard that Clow may not be staying with the team for the entire season and instead going to play Jr B. Just repeating what I heard so I don't know who close it is to the truth but Clow isn't looking to make a career out of hockey and hasn't enjoying riding the stands or bench for the entire season would rather get lots of ice time playing Jr B (no interest in Jr A). If things don't change he could leave after Christmas or may ride out the year and could not return next season. Something to be cautious about when planning our defense.
Anyway if I was GM here is what I would do.
1. I would start rotating Deighan/Malouin/Clow evenly, give them playing time and make sure all three are back next season.
2. I would trade Morrison to BC for 17 yr old Bourque plus a 4th round draft pick.
3. I would shop Lessard hard looking for a deal like adding a Gilbert plus a contingency pick (based on if Lessard returns) but if we can't get that kind of top end prospect I wouldn't do it because I think there is a good enough chance Lessard will be back next season and that the trade value won't be there so I would end up keeping him.
4. I would trade Locke to St. John's for 4th. They should need to replace one of their top forwards which they moved plus he could be a 20 yr old for them.
5. I would try to trade Cliche for a 5th-8th rounder. If not he returns home.
6. I would bring Steet back to share time with MacLean/DesRoches on the 4th line to help him develop a lot more than playing Midget. If he doesn't want to come as our 13th forward bring in Manson.
In theory that could give us:
Walker-Doyle-Bourque Kana-Lachaine-Latal McKinley-CoonCome-Gallant MacLean-DesRoches-Paynter
Lessard-Main Gervais-Southorn Deighan-Malouin/Clow
Then in the off season we would have:
Kana-Doyle-Euro(?) Bourque-Lachaine- McKinley MacLean-CoonCome-DesRoches Manson-Street-
Gervais-Southorn Lessard(Hopefully) or Main - Clow (Hopefully) Deighan-Malouin
I think you go into next season hopeing Lessard comes back if not go with Main to start the season. But at the draft I would trade MacLean/Street plus a draft pick for a top 6 forward. At least that would give us a team that could make a run.
Just my thoughts.

I think that it is possible that both Street and McLean have seen the writing on the wall....

Amazing that DesRoches and Cliche, given just a few shifts, are now goal scorers too...what a novel concept....

Including a lot of time on the top line where it was painfully obvious he was out of place. He just can not keep up with the play.
If he's going to stick in this league, let alone with the Rocket his skating really has to improve.

Anyone hearing any rumors as of late?
Morrison will be a player that teams are going to show interest in, thats for sure.
I heard that a team in the Telus Division wants him bad, but I would not be surprised to see the Moose show some interest in Mo as well.
Lessard could help a few teams out down the stretch as well........a possible MO/Lessard package?
Lafleur IMO has lost the #1 spot to Gelinas......which makes him available IMO. Options to bring up Mosher to backstop Gelinas, or get a tender in return to backup Gelinas. Either way, Lafleur is a player that can be shopped around IMO.
I expect to see Clow stick it out with the Rocket this season, and prepare to get his game back to where it's capable of being, hopefully for next season.
Latal could use a change I think. Unsure who could upgrade on their Euro situation, besides Bathurst, but some teams may be interested.

Either way, Lafleur is a player that can be shopped around IMO. If Lafleur was to be shipped out, my first choice would be for the Rocket to acquire a back up for Gelinas so that Mosher can keep getting his playing time in the MJAHL. If he were to be called up, he wouldn't play as much as he would in tier 2 and right now I think Mosher needs the playing time instead of opening the bench doors. Gelinas has played well for the Rocket and even though he is 18 he is basically still a rookie as far as playing time, which is another reason I would prefer to have an experienced backup for Gelinas. Just to throw a name out, IF the Rocket were to make a package deal with Halifax involving Morrison or even a different Rocket player, what about Yetman. Not sure if he is available or if Halifax would even consider moving him or at what price, but perhaps a backup along those lines.

If the rocket were to package Morrison to Halifax... why not acuire pelletier?
The moose have nobody to take over next year.... they won't give yetman away IMO
