Less than 48 hours before the home opener. I was at that Coliseum Monday night. Ice looked great. Can't say the same for what it'll be like Friday night. The Scorpions concert tonight. Weather Network saying 29 degrees plus humidity for Friday.
Lots of new things to look forward to at the games this season. A full service lounge under the standings board behind section 17. Mexicali Rosa's will have a "pop up" restaurant on the concessions level.
Prediction time: Cats win 5-1

For whatever reason, WC hope openers usually are played on the warmest day in September every year.
Add in the big crowd to the heat and humidity and the ice should be slush by game time. They should invest in temporary AC units for at least that game.

I told my coworkers next year if they want guaranteed good weather for their vacation wait until the wildcats schedule comes out and start it on the home opener date.

I wonder if they will have a player there from each of the first 20 years of the franchise for this 21st year.

I wonder if they will have a player there from each of the first 20 years of the franchise for this 21st year. It's the 20th year of the Wildcats whether you like it or not. If I were to purchase Hynes restaurant, redecorate it, change the menu, change management completely, rename it but keep most of the staff. It's my business and no longer Hynes. After 1 year, I can have first anniversary specials and nobody would bat an eye. Only place the Alpines should be included is in the record books, where the Wildcats act as though they didn't exist. The Alpines and Wildcats were two totally different organisations. To answer your question, I remember seeing somewhere that they would be bringing in alumni throughout the year.

Potential record high temperatures for today and tomorrow.
Is this finally the day that a game is cancelled due to unplayable ice conditions?

It's still the same franchise. Changing owners and front office doesn't change that. The California Angels changed names like 5 times the last 20 years, doesn't make the team only 10 years old.

In the end, it's their company/team and they can choose the promotions they want. If they want to offer specials, and extra activities, you just take advantage of them. It shouldn't affect you. I'm sure the Washington Nationals celebrated their 10th anniversary last year but the franchise records include those of the Expos.

Did my usual scan of individual ticket prices across the Maritimes. Only Halifax and Saint John lower bowl have higher adult ticket prices than the Cats. Everyone has lower prices for youth tickets and in most cases it's MUCH lower than here. They change all those game times to be more family friendly and yet charge $12 for a kid to go to the games. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
I do like that you can redeem unused tickets for almost any game this season. That's a nice change.

They plan on honouring a different team every time the new jerseys are worn starting Friday night with the 1996 group. Plus, two celebrations this season for each of the Presidents Cup championships.

They actually bought the Franchise , not the Business . That's why it is different than buying Hynes .

I was a season ticket holder up until a few seasons ago but it's now at the point where I can take my family of 5 to the MOVIES with concessions for cheaper than just Cats tickets. And movies have long been considered some of the most overpriced entertainment around. I only do a handful of Cats game now each year, unfortunately. The rest is online.
